Don'T blame YT its the power hungry record companies. In the past YT has been paying them via the partnership program but greed set in and here we are deletions for use of 20 seconds of a song. Sad part is the musicians get little payment unless they are a major act and can afford a high priced lawyer.

For uploaded videos there is an option to "swap" the audio. If your video contains copyrighted music you have the option to keep it and possibly be suspended (like Ysabellabrave), remove it completely, or use "AudioSwap" to change the audio and keep it. It's silly for many vids but at least they provide the option.

The video looked great! It took this long for the Record Companies to figure out that DRM hurt their sales, and eventually they'll figure out that this copyright bs is hurting more than helping too. And how about this: there are only 12 chromatic tones, or pitch classes. See circle of fifths or circle of fourths. Now, while there are almost an infinite number of arrangements, if you had a database with every song ever written, you'd probably find that you could not write anything which did not at least sound like something else. So, when someone does develop such a database, it will really screw some of the copyright happy bastites.

Check this out, for how silly copyright laws can get: John Fogerty wrote Run Through The Jungle. He also wrote The Old Man Down The Road, which sounded similar, though different lyrics and different music, it did sound similar. Saul Zaentz owned the rights to Run Through The Jungle, via his affiliation with CCR. Zaentz sued Fogerty for copying himself! Court eventually found for Fogerty, but while it was being contested, Fogerty could not perform the songs, which he had written!
