Those Liberators were flown by 19-20 years old kids! And during daytime not night time bombing like the RAF did! The hungarian fighters only surrendered to the americans on german/austrian soil in 1945. They fought all the way with the germans, they were the last fighting units of the hungarian armed forces of WWII to surrender. They torched their beloved BF-109's and FW-190's on a german airfield before they walked into captivity

Throwing nationalist rhetoric at each other ey? How not cool. See, the thing is that the Hu & Ro AF-s did pretty well in spite of their disadvantaged situation in men and equipment. The number of kills are proportionally comparable, if you take a good look at all the factors. As for politics, note that Hungary was basically forced to side with Germany, then the local nazis took over. As for Romania, they did the smart thing when they turned, but that action is an eternal stain on their honour.

Thats how you learn in school? unfortunately there is some sense in it, 'couse the Royal Romanian Army occupied Budapest from 1919 august to nov., and left east Hungary only in 1920 march. Was it that "fair fight", as you said?

In case you didn't know, the ww1 was ended in 1918. At 1st December 1918 Transilvania became the last Romanian province to re-join the mother land. The treaty was signed at Alba Iulia and, by the way, you can go there and see. There is a museum dedicated to it. What we did in Budapest was not to take Transilvania back, but to force you to accept it. And you did. Any comments?

Transylvania - as we say "Erdély" - was hungarian territory from the IX.century to 1920, and from 1940 to 1944. This video is about WW2, 1939-1945.
