is it just me or do standard decks seem soo slow... i've seen alot of faster decks but those ppl dont go to tournies...this is kinda annoying how they keep showing such slow decks

It's not standard then. Many decks in vintage and such win turn 2 almost every time. Those games are not fun. I like the slow paced better.

the thing with Thought Hemorrhage is it only works when you go first

and swans has nothing to deal with meddling mage besides deny reality and it dosent come out till turn 5 i amost always have a good set up before then there

is the best way to stop the combo,ethersworn cananist is good, but ive played the swans, and i usually get seismic mainhadn and don need to cascade.

swans in general isn't very good, because permission rapes it. You just counter the seismic assault, and answer the creatures. It's not very hard

Yeah, there is more hate availeble. I for instance have sided 7 enchantment/artifact removal. Seismic assault is the winning key for the deck. Swans is annoying, but can only block 1 a time ;)

Correct, but actually Everlasting Torment isn't a bad choice because it's also good against another Tier 1 deck called "Turbo Fog".

Even LSV mentioned in his video that people should use the 3 mana enchantment as a sideboard against that damage preventing deck. so, if you're using red or black. I think you should try.

by the way Everlasting Tourment stops the swans+ seisemic assult combo but ya pretty much you need runed halo, thought hemorage, pithing needle, or everlasting tourment to see if you could beat the combo

Faeries beating up on people who think they've out thought the metagame since Lorwyn first came out... It beats TurboFog, it Beats Swans, it beats 5cc, and has game against tokens. Basically, B/R beatdown is the only thing faeries just can't beat.

You can use Selestial Purge to remove their Seismic Assault. if they're using cascade to put their SA into play, u should do the same to play SP(Violent Outburst FTW) too.

And then there's the useless rare you're looking for; Counterbore. get rid of their Swan/Assault/Crusher seems neat to me.

I think Pithing Needle is THE sideboard card in todays standard. It stops Windbrisk, Ajani (or any planewalker for that sake), Pridemage that can take the needle down, Assault and so on. i will include 4 in my sideboard for my next tournament, that's for sure.

Turbofog will beat swans, cause you can play Halo, Counters & Needles mainboard w/o losing slots for your strategie. Clestial Purge is also nice, since it handles R/B aggro, Assault, Crusher and Bitterblossom. Sounds fair 4 2mana.

And well: Pariah on a Swan would be fun....
