@doodledo2 Lateral drops are done from the under/over position. They involve dropping suddenly causing your opponent to be thrown over you and you landing on top. Its called a lateral DROP because it involves you dropping. In the video, I could clearly see him loading his opponent up on his upper body and then popping his hips to take him over top. The moves may look similar, and I don't begrudge him for using it. But that was definitely not a lateral drop.

@musicalmike235 throw by to a reversed head lock, then put your inside leg in and just pull him back straight to his back. it worked every match in 8th grade but people started catching on in 9th so i switched to a head club cradle and very few people can stop it

The first throw was solid, im not sure how it didn't get called for potentially dangerous though since it looked like a high school match not freestyle. The other throws looked like hip tosses or head an arms that they teach to puppies

@marines16301 The stuff you get in your ears is called cauliflower ear. It occurs when your ear gets rubbed on really hard or get hit hard. As long as you wear your headgear you'll be fine. I wrestled for 10 years and never got it. In my 2nd year of coaching a kid popped me in my ear and I got a little bit of it. I wasn't wearing a headgear.
@lexusmexicano I've wrestled for two years, take showers right after practice and you wont get ringworm. I got cauliflower in my left ear from getting hit pretty hard when my headgear came loose.

@joeylz96 why would you say that someone is gay for wrestling? its because you have to wear a singlet I'm guessing. besides you dont wear them to show off you dick. you wear them so no one gets a snapped off finger from loose cloths, and it gives you nothing to grab onto. and the fact that before weapons people would wrestle/fight. if you look at the ufc im shore you wouldn't call them gay, they could kick your ass so hard that your mom would feel it.

@doodledo2 Lateral drops are done from the under/over position. They involve dropping suddenly causing your opponent to be thrown over you and you landing on top. Its called a lateral DROP because it involves you dropping. In the video, I could clearly see him loading his opponent up on his upper body and then popping his hips to take him over top. The moves may look similar, and I don't begrudge him for using it. But that was definitely not a lateral drop.

@doodledo2 I know that technically it isn't a slam. But honestly, I've seen so many team mates get screwed by bad refs back in the day that if I was coaching I would probably just instruct the wrestlers not to risk it.

@musicalmike235 throw by to a reversed head lock, then put your inside leg in and just pull him back straight to his back. it worked every match in 8th grade but people started catching on in 9th so i switched to a head club cradle and very few people can stop it

The first throw was solid, im not sure how it didn't get called for potentially dangerous though since it looked like a high school match not freestyle. The other throws looked like hip tosses or head an arms that they teach to puppies

@marines16301 The stuff you get in your ears is called cauliflower ear. It occurs when your ear gets rubbed on really hard or get hit hard. As long as you wear your headgear you'll be fine. I wrestled for 10 years and never got it. In my 2nd year of coaching a kid popped me in my ear and I got a little bit of it. I wasn't wearing a headgear.

@lexusmexicano I've wrestled for two years, take showers right after practice and you wont get ringworm. I got cauliflower in my left ear from getting hit pretty hard when my headgear came loose.

@lexusmexicano My entire team had an outbreak of ringworm. I was one of the lucky ones. my friend Ryan was the first one to get it, but they let him wrestle in one match when it was small, he thought it was a bug bite. Every time I see him I jokingly call out: "What's up Wormy?" lol

@marines16301 Dude... you don't sound very excited about it. You're in disadvantage right off the bat. If you're not into it then don't do it. Wrestling, like any other direct contact sport or martial art, is putting you against your opponent as absolute equals. If you go in without the spirit to dominate and show supremacy, than I would say you need to rethink WHY you are getting into it. Gotta love what you do or at least want to do it, don't get into something you're gonna give 99% to.
