Whether you like the song or not, that Billboard Awards performance was off the CHAIN. So was the Oprah performance. And then all performances of the Damita Jo era, namely those performed on SNL, It's easy to write off everything from her past this point, but she's had some great moments past this performance. Fast-forward to Rockwithcu Tour and Essence Festival: Repulsive.

Most people lose athletic ability because they don't USE it. Janet just isn't that focused on her music. I perceive that the public backlash she got after this performance doused her flames of creativity, explaining the mediocre music which followed. It has also shown in her dancing.
