He got his blackbelt a long time ago, Now that he has trained in multiple other styles of martial arts he has discovered there are other more practical styles for fighting, but in general martial arts is a good tool to build confidence and life skills, and to stay in shape. Also he made a living off teaching Tae Kwon Do, so i would say it has paid off for him. He was just being honest. I dont know what you mean about the fatherhood comment.
