  • This instrument is beautiful, but this music is horrible. Please, play medieval compositions, this music is kinda cheesy and poor in melody.

  • @MoneyAvalanche Your taste in music is shit. Play medieval compositions?? "This is kind of cheesy and poor in melody." You have no clue what you are talkin' about.

  • absolutely amazing, what an enchanting and hypnotic sound.

  • wow. made me cry lol

  • I didn't know there was a dulcimer that had notes on both sides of the bass bridge. What's the make of your dulcimer?

  • Nice

  • Absolute magic!

  • I just love seeing the joy and the fun that this instrument brings to you... it has a very pretty sound so clear and clean it's like the early version of the piano :) keep rocking :D

  • could call on early piano sound.

  • Very nice. * * * * *

    By Ery. :)

  • this is true! perhaps some drums and bass could be brought into this, unveiling its true potential.

but that is irrelevant, there is not a duo of such awesomeness in existence up to the challenge, is there?

  • OMG, this too needs some kind of richeous remix by a richeous pair of music demons!!

  • By "richeous," did you mean "righteous"?

  • i love this very nice respect ^^

  • good job =)

  • What is it about the hammer dulcimer. Always brings tears. Just lovely.

  • omg! this is brilliant! You rock! simply the best! congratulations!

  • Very nice!

  • YOU ARE AWSESOME!!!!!! WOOT! I WANT TO LEARN TO PLAY! And my names Emily too. Though I only have 3 brothers, no sisters.

  • I have a Master Works 16/15 Dulcimer made in Arlington, Texas I bought in 1998. I stopped playing for a while, and it has collected dust. After seeing your performance, I feel inspired to practice again and teach my 5 year old as well. Thank you for posting this and your great website as well. This performance is up there amongst my favorite dulcimer performances ever, alongside the late Rich Mullins' 78 Eatonwood Green (which I had the pleasure of seeing live in 1996).

  • This is simply beautiful! You guys are great!!!

  • Very nice, the sound is very intriguing. I play the Chinese dulcimer myself. May I know the ethnic origin of these dulcimers?

  • These dulcimers are a western version from Europe and America but i believe the origin of the dulcimer is either Persia or Thailand as they have been played in both these countries for thousands of years! X

  • @dizzid11 hello hello the origin is india ,there it is called santoor or santuri brought by gypsies all over europe and norther afrika till spain also ,look up the khartaal they are indian catagnettes ,and i warmly recommend to watch the movie latcho drom very important for alternate musicians who are not only playing but do love their instruments and following their history an schenan tog

  • Il provient du Santûr, instrument Persan, les deux marteaux sont appelés des mezrab.

  • @Fai2012 The dulcimer is celtic, but nobody can really know from where he comes... It's a mondial instrument :).

BUT the hammered dulcimer was invented in UK.

  • This is just awesome, I so want to take up this instrument after hearing you play. Too bad the audience was so rude even though they obviously knew it was being taped. I liked when the camera came behind you so we could see you actually hitting the strings. It really does sound heavenly and it would be easier to carry than a harp!

  • cosmic sisters sounds like it could be a good techno song

  • I would love someone to techno fy one of my tunes Thanks dizzi x

  • Yes please, please, please do a Techno version of your tunes. It would be awesome.

  • Thanks, check out our new film "Dulci" electric dulcimer duo, we did it recently please let me know what you think,

    Love Dizzi x

  • the sound this instrument makes is quite enchanting

  • hiya i really enjoy your interpretation of this piece! it's awesome.. and we are trying to get this duo sorted out with the piano and the dulcimer and we are kinda wondering if we could use this piece. its my first time hearing it but im really interested int it.. could you provide a website for the scores please? thank youuu x

  • I only discovered the hammered dulcimer on youtube today...

But by far, this has to be the best piece I've heard played on them :)

    Well done!

(It has even inspired me to actually go play some music myself now!)

  • You two did a GREAT job. I'm very impressed. Thanks for posting!

  • Very nice performance, though I so wish you could record it again without the coughing, talking & other background noise

  • wow...really sound beautiful....

and u guys seems to enjoy playing it...^_^

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

I realy love the hammered dulcimer. To bad they are so expensive, I can't afford any at the moment.

Nice too, a duette between al the solo's. Shows that the instrument isn't only a stand alone intrument.

I like to play along with my didge.

    Huggies & Greenthings

  • Awesome! I love the camera shot showing how Dizz was totally "in the zone" whilst playing ... that place where the music and the beat and the mind and everything just comes together as one. Totally lovely.

  • how rude u can just hear the audience talking in the back!

  • The 'me' is the brown haired one and the blolnde haired one is Emily :D

    Beautiful

    Very talented

    Kady x

  • i've got dark hair

  • Which one of you is "me" and which one is "my sister?"

  • it makes me smile when i listen to the girls, you can really fell with how much love they make music

  • very beautiful PL bardzo piękne

  • Easily my favorite of all percussion instruments. This music has a depth and soul that one might not find elsewhere; a fleeting poise that is both peaceful and powerfully present at the same time.

And it sounds awesome too. xD

  • That gave me chills! This was awesome, thanks!

  • Wasted on that audience!! :D hahaha

  • Even Simon would like this. ;) Beautiful work.

  • And I soared.... I absolutely soared...

    Ethereal. Genius really.

A work of the highest order.

The mind awaits and craves such wonder.

A soundscape richer than a galaxy of stars.

    On such wonder.

I bow to you both. The best to you.

  • What Dubh said.. I agree!

  • you and your sister are great dulcimer players keep it up great job and thanks for posting the video its great

  • This is music from the Heaven! Thanks!!

  • that is probibly the best most artistic comment iv ever read:D

  • very beautiful, I have been a quiet fan of you for a while, I would like to know your opinion of something, what would you think of the idea of an electric/acoustic hammered dulcimer? I am a big fan of modernised folk instruments... Love your music very much.
