@MoneyAvalanche Your taste in music is shit. Play medieval compositions?? "This is kind of cheesy and poor in melody." You have no clue what you are talkin' about.
Arcane and absolutely beautiful! Been searching to find out what this instrument was for years after hearing in various songs and soundtracks Thanks for sharing and enlightening. Not sure if your able to reply, but is a Cimbalom a different instrument? Thank you again... off to check out the rest of your posts. Stay Beautiful. Kris
Thanks for the Video I remember going to all the Mountain Festivials in West Virginia and my aunt played the Hammered Dulcimer. It is a shame the instrument is not more widely recognized. Such a pentrating sound to take away your thoughts.
That was absolutely astounding, I loved ever second of it and I can tell you guys did too. It seriously makes me want to learn to play, I may have to add it to my list of instruments I need to learn.
on your face ...... you love play with your instrument Dizzi ... its your passion :) ce que moi j ai perdu un peu with the music =| dont stop to playing the music ;) its very nice
This is truly an awesome song, i love the sound of you playing together, its so cool that you both enjoy the dulcimer and play together and are able to bring such inspiring sounds to this day and age!!!!
I just love seeing the joy and the fun that this instrument brings to you... it has a very pretty sound so clear and clean it's like the early version of the piano :) keep rocking :D
That is so beautiful, you took me to a land I always dream of ... and I don't even do drugs!Your sound is a drug, and I plan on getting addicted to it! Thank you for opening a new world of music for me! I want to listen to all your videos, now, but it's 2 AM, I gotta force myself away. Please come to Coloma!
I have a Master Works 16/15 Dulcimer made in Arlington, Texas I bought in 1998. I stopped playing for a while, and it has collected dust. After seeing your performance, I feel inspired to practice again and teach my 5 year old as well. Thank you for posting this and your great website as well. This performance is up there amongst my favorite dulcimer performances ever, alongside the late Rich Mullins' 78 Eatonwood Green (which I had the pleasure of seeing live in 1996).
These dulcimers are a western version from Europe and America but i believe the origin of the dulcimer is either Persia or Thailand as they have been played in both these countries for thousands of years! X
@dizzid11 hello hello the origin is india ,there it is called santoor or santuri brought by gypsies all over europe and norther afrika till spain also ,look up the khartaal they are indian catagnettes ,and i warmly recommend to watch the movie latcho drom very important for alternate musicians who are not only playing but do love their instruments and following their history an schenan tog
This is just awesome, I so want to take up this instrument after hearing you play. Too bad the audience was so rude even though they obviously knew it was being taped. I liked when the camera came behind you so we could see you actually hitting the strings. It really does sound heavenly and it would be easier to carry than a harp!
hiya i really enjoy your interpretation of this piece! it's awesome.. and we are trying to get this duo sorted out with the piano and the dulcimer and we are kinda wondering if we could use this piece. its my first time hearing it but im really interested int it.. could you provide a website for the scores please? thank youuu x
Awesome! I love the camera shot showing how Dizz was totally "in the zone" whilst playing ... that place where the music and the beat and the mind and everything just comes together as one. Totally lovely.
Easily my favorite of all percussion instruments. This music has a depth and soul that one might not find elsewhere; a fleeting poise that is both peaceful and powerfully present at the same time.
This is the music u hear just when ur about to die and look upon the great things in life, u love everyone u ever know and are happy that u were on this world, and then u close ur eyes and ur embraced by God. Thats whats heaven like..
