  • 2:45 definitly the best part

  • ODST=Only Death Stops Them

  • ODST was certainly one of the best Halo games I've played in terms of storyline...It's music was much more than any other Halo game soundtrack - Emotional and Picture making.

This game, was a work of -art-, and if anyone doubts it, let me drop you in a Covenant infested city on your own at night...You'll piss yourself thrice - Never mind the art.

    ODST, Away.

  • Halo 3 ODST Was, is and it's going to be my favorite, unless they release a game called "Halo 3 ODST 2"

  • from 0:13 to 0:21 is my fav part

  • 4:15 best part

  • i still play the campain with my friends and we just fuck around in mombasa streets

    so much fun

  • I don't see why nobody likes odst or halo in general anymore I mean the campaigns are the best I've seen in my shory 4 years as a gamer. Bungie and 343 delivered an actual storyline that you could relate to all of the other games in the franchise

  • I love how both of the top comments start with "ODST"

  • I just like the storyline to the Halo universe. It's intriguing, well written, and it hits close to home with it taking place on earth and in an alternate future of humankind. I have books, the legends series, all the games released, some action figures... I'm a Halo nerd, wall o' text done.

  • this is sad.

  • I want them to make a Halo movie about ODSTs after 1 with Master chief. I really hope the movie is going to be released soon(2013-2014 is fine for me).

  • The Rookie, Most Feard Person In the world...

  • Zelda has the best music, with halo as a close second.

  • @FlatMattress No, Just no

  • @MidKnightHarvest I'm not being a hater, because I don't really play halo (I'd like to though) but just because I play a lot of zelda naturally I would like it more. .......I guess I shouldn't be here then XD

  • @FlatMattress Fair enough

  • this sound like my 8th grade graduation song like if ur freshman in high school

  • Am I the only one who thinks "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin would have been WAY more suited to THIS game than Halo 2?

  • @MASDERCHEEFOrigin well it depends witch mission your talking about b/c in halo 2 blow me away fit perfect when mc and the marines walking into that slaughter house

  • Halo ODST sucked really bad IMO and made ODST's look really lame.... BUT the OST was/is fantastic :D

  • even if people didn't find ODST that amazing. One thing is certain, the OST for this game is on par with halo 1's soundtrack. This is some of Marty's best work.

  • odst was a nice change in halo. instead of a super soldier you got to be a normal trooper wich was nice. hiding, shooting them one by one. i hope a new odst will be made.

  • Best OST in the series.

  • I loved ODST. This game is terribly underrated.

  • halo will never be the same with 343 industries now owning the franchise :'(

bungie,we love you...thnx for making this game that changed everyones live and for creating the modern day FPS settings :)

  • I dont understand why loads of people think Odst is crap.

i know it had no multiplayer and so on but still that's beside the point.

Odst for me was a great game to play. The campaign was great. The music was great. Odst firefight was better than Halo reach firefight (my opinion). i always wanted to be an Odst. before it came out i was always thinking to myself, i wonder how good it would be being an Odst :P

  • @mattybrass most of the people who say odst sucks are halo 3 fags

  • @mattybrass I still wish you had pickups.

  • @mattybrass u have just touched my heart

  • @BLOODYMITTENZv2 Good :P

  • @mattybrass it really is a good game but if you never looked in to the story of "Halo" it might not be as interesting as for a Halo lover. I liked the game but found it depressing in the beginning, but the storyline was amazing.

  • @ArmoredZimpa Good job i am a halo lover then :P. i been playing halo since i was about 10. I love halo and always will. brilliant games

  • @mattybrass also i think halo 3 odst has great music also i think this is the best song out of the whole soundtrack.

  • Oohhh cool! I love the rain and the NAAAAHHHHH OOOOOO at the start.

  • ODST wasn't that amazing? It had a better campaign than any halo other than CE, and it was an expansion, and the best halo music since halo 2. Amazing doesn't even sum it up.

  • Halo 3 Odst wasnt amazing , it was EPIC!

ist IS Epic , i love it !

  • Guys,Guys Guys, this may be our life soon.

  • @elbridge27 i doubt it. halo occurs during 2500. we wont live till we are 500

  • @mattybrass Unless in 2050, they make a life extending machine that makes us at least 900 years old, top that.

  • @elbridge27 lol

  • Halos not a game, its a living world, by gamers, for gamers.

  • halo 3 odst was amazing the tone the story everything except the graphics but thats minor and at 2:45 i felt a chill down my spine i love hat music

  • Comment removed

  • this was one of my favorite halo games simply because of the change in mood.

  • I only like the song up to 1:24

  • Everytime I hear this song where it shows the intro of words I blast my tv I juss love dis song but only the first part thumbs up if you do

  • This game would be perfect with reach graphics and matchmaking

  • this song + rainymood . com

  • At 3:50 is when the best part begins. :)

  • THE SAXAPHONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN KENNY G

  • Halo 1 is going to be re-mastered, there is already trailers on Halo Waypoint and on Youtube, know what that means?

    New graphics for the Flood.

But they're keeping the gameplay the same, same animations, weapons, the whole deal.

  • @ryakoasakora Fucking weird if you ask me. I'll play the game, but I highly doubt I'll buy either the Halo Anniversary or Halo 4.

P.S., have you noticed that the Anniversary game has the Halo 1 campaign with newer graphics, but Halo: Reach multiplayer with Halo 1 maps?

Check out the engine and graphical differences, then check out the assassination animations and the similarities between the way the multiplayers for Reach and the Anniversary game look.

  • @Jarbizu800 Yeah I think they're doing what they did with ODST, I reckon that Campaign and multiplayer are separate engines.

  • @ryakoasakora Probably. Also just means they're lazier. Bungie did ODST in a year. ODST was using the Halo 3 engine, just pushed to better limits. The Halo 3 multiplayer had nothing to do with ODST, really, but it still was on a similar engine and was still done in a year.

The Anniversary game not only is using Reach's multiplayer (which bungie made) but the Halo 1 campaign (which bungie made) with newer character models (which bungie made). They only thing they are doing is the environments-

  • @Jarbizu800 To be fair to 343, they are making Halo 4, surely making a game in between and keeping us happy while waiting for it is a better alternative.

  • @ryakoasakora I guess that makes sense, except in my particular case I'm not that excited for Halo 4.

  • @ryakoasakora Also it kinda makes me mad that they seem to be turning Halo into a game-a-year game like Call of Duty, which sucks really hard.

  • @Jarbizu800 Not likely 1 a year remember ODST and Reach 1 year apart and it's the same situation with these two really ODST was based on the Halo 3 engine so it was easier to make, Anniversary is made with the Halo: CE engine with Reach graphics, no doubt that Halo 4,5&6 will be 3 years apart from eachother

  • @ryakoasakora I guess I should be nicer about it, but seriously, I just don't trust them. I'll play the game and see if it's any good, but I'm not promising my love for the new Halo games yet.

Also, Reach was being developed since the end of Halo 3. It was a 3 year dev cycle, and a small team made ODST in one of those years.

    Just sayin'.

  • @Jarbizu800 I see where you're coming from but i'm not worried, 343 is ex-bungie members, I have faith that they'll come through.

  • @Jarbizu800 This is why I won't concider any of the new Halos part of the series I have grown to love. Reach is the last one made by bungi, so it is the last made in the true story of Halo.

  • @ryakoasakora -and multiplayer maps.

  • Honestly, the night levels would have been moodless and boring without the soundtrack to save it. Sends a shiver own my spine.

  • I just love that solo sax so much.

  • A very underrated game. ODST has a kind of atmosphere no other halo game created.

  • @denis505 Agreed. Original Theme, and an Original playstyle. This game was too underrated for the quality is possessed. It take a true halo lover to appreciate it, unfortunately.

  • halo always go the best music song but black ops mask walk is olwso good

  • All of those who dislike this song WILL FEAR MY LASER FACE

  • @maluth25 But you're supposed to be dead!

  • @maluth25 indeed they shall

  • Although Halo 3 odst wasn't the greatest halo title, it's music stands out as one of the best among the series.

  • @ReconSpec Agreed.

  • God, this just made me cry up a "flood". D':

  • @VmkRocks3 japanese ?

  • I have to say this music shows of a lot of emotion,

  • its like a glass of water.

you drink it, and oops its gone.

    just like the covenant.

  • @prownzu4life It's also a cup of awesome!

  • BEST HALO SOUNDTRACK EVER

  • ODST is so underrated.

  • @TheRexc2 halo is too awesome to be underrated

so.....whoever underrated this game was probably on crack

  • @TheRexc2 ikr i mean the story behind it is great because it ties into the untold story of the odst's in the halo universe. plus the story itself ties into halo 2 perfectly

  • @TheRexc2 DUDE and Nathan Fillion is in it!

  • @TheRexc2 wish I could play it (on the pc)

controllers are such a torture for some of us

oh well, maybe on windows 8 (makes a big grin and starts laughing in his mind)

  • ODST was not that amazing, but it was a nice change of pace in the franchise. We love ya Halo. You changed the face of gaming forever :D We need to put a heat resistant statue of Noble Team on the sun so everyone on earth can remember the greatest damn game series ever.

  • @QuackyBear If you want them to remember the best, make them Remember MC.

  • @QuackyBear how about the moon it would be pointless on the sun

  • @Wulfy346 It would make a silloette of noble team basically is what he's saying

  • @QuackyBear You're funny. Halo 1 was the best, still is the best, in the entire series. It may be old but it's still the best of them all.

  • @LordKhain That's a great opinion right there.

  • @QuackyBear Yeah but you can't say that ODST ost isn't amazing cause it is.

  • That saxophone gives me chills, man.

  • thanks sooooo much for uploading!

  • that's a beautiful music, i love listening to that, i'm not playing now and i'm listening to that ! Hockey star is right :) I just LOVE Halo games and they did a great choice for classical music :)

  • sounds like kingdom hearts lol

  • Odst's New mombasa was ten fold if not more of halo two's

  • whoa

it just go really creepy and dark 0_0 but still amazing

  • i love the jazzy feeling of ODST's Soundtrack at parts you know?

  • odst has a very good soundtrack just lke all the other halos but campaign my favorite is halo 2 its soundtrack is amazing like all other halo ost's

  • this...is..awesome...its so...sad? no....its....its....genuine. no one else but bungie or Marty O'Donnell could make music like this....

  • brings back some memories...:)

  • i have he entire series and if you are going on campaign ODST wins.

The whole game has this atmosphere about it that makes it feel real.

    Mombassa was designed perfectly

Reach is unfortenatuley it for the series but it would be great if they made another ODST

its sad to see that no one buys and not many people see how good it is

I saw it on the shelves of a store for 30 dollars :(

  • @shomosnicholas5 Ehhh I'm going to disagree. The ODST campaign series was okay but I found it to be very dark and gloomy. I do like the fact that noone died. By far I liked the Halo 3 campaign. Very lively and colorful. You go in the tropical jungle, desert, snow. Reach had that metropolitan Urban feeling like ODST.

  • @shomosnicholas5 well only 30% of the people dislike odst don't worry

  • Gives me goosebumps

  • I much prefer the ODST OST to the Reach OST.

  • @meeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Halo 3 odst soundtrack are the best .

  • @bioniclealien

this is my list of best soundtracks

    Halo 2

    Halo ODST

    Halo 1

Halo Reach(or maybe tied with halo)

    Halo 3

    Halo Wars

  • The Halo Wars soundtrack is great, but only in small portions. It's perfectly fitted while playing the game but that seems to be only it. I just wish that some parts would extend further without coming back to that technical, techno, beeping -blam!- that sets the RTS mood. I love how WB & RAG was revamped for Halo Waypoint. I can't imagine anyone else composing the Halo Soundtrack other than Mar7y and his army. It's h4rd to believe h3 composed vitamin commercials. S.R. just can't compare.

  • @GunStreets I totally agree. Halo 2 soundtracks are epic! And Halo ODST should be honoured to have these soundtracks.

  • @meeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i cant decide reach and odsts are both too good to pick

  • Hockeystar you are So right. So many games add modern Music and it near runis the feel of their games. Halo is now and Forever one of the best games ever created.

  • Only Marty can create the feel of heavy rain in a game where the engine would have crashed with heavy rain. If it were not for great scores such as this... the game would not have the great feel that it has today. ODST; short but great.

  • I can understand critics and people hating the Halo series but dude...duuuuuuude.

You can't talk shit about music of this caliber

  • smooth jazz+ orchestra+ shooter= Fucking awesome.

  • .. We are losing.

  • the part wit the drums pumps you up soo much like your getting ready for war

  • along with final fantasy - halo had some of the best game music today

  • @paulgregs2006 HAS!

  • ODST was okay... but I still like Halo CE the best... I mean, blood gulch chronicles... heheh...

Can't wait to go home... you guys do know Blood Gulch is coming back in reach, right?

  • @TharTassakahn Yup, you can even go outside the Canyon.

    ... I Love you Bungie.

  • @NattyDL It looks so amazing, you know with the third tower in the hills?

  • it's pretty cool that rvb got engine time

  • this reminds me of the kind of music you hear in the elevator, a 5 star restaurant, or a really clean bathroom.

  • @bubbujones i dont think so

  • The Year is 2552

Humanity is at war wiht an alien Alliance know as The Covenant

    We are losing

  • Marty Odonnel FTW

  • when is this song played?

  • @lfdh3playa360 during the intro to the game, before the main menu.

  • @novagenesis886 Not to mention you got all of the maps for Halo 3 and Reach BETA test. So it was worth it.

  • wow this is the first game soundtrack i loved

  • What Marty does with his baton is nothing short of what a wizard does with his wand.

  • Smexamaphone...

  • Martin O'Donnell brings games to life with music.

  • wow this is an amazing song. have to download this ost

  • I applaud Bungie for choosing a different idea of making gorgeous melodies via orchestra as part of the Halo franchise. I know plenty of people who now adore this soundtrack alone with other amazing pieces by John Williams, Howard Shore, James Horner, etc.

  • Marty is a genius

  • What's up with the Smexamaphone?

  • if you play the game it's kind of like one of those old detective movies (think Bogart) cause you solving the mystery of where your other squadmates are. So Marty Decided to put a lot of Saxaphone on the score to fit that kind of Film-Noir vibe.

  • this track is from menu some of it is

  • Its a saxophone. I've seen a video with Martin O' Donell Playing the sax while this was playing.

  • Saxamaphone.... saxamaphone.

  • I think the story from this game is very good. It shows you the lifes from the ordinary soldiers with their own problems and not a great supersoldier with a grat mission. I think Halo 3 Odst shows you an other aspect of the war.

  • i agree

  • Could not agree more, my friend.

  • thanks

  • Totally agree.. You've put it in very nice words..

  • 3:19 is BEAST.

  • I'm so glad Bungie goes with classical music instead of slapping some generic modern rock on there video games. It really adds depth to the entire story and enhances feel of the halo universe

  • *nods*

I don't mind guitar, like how its added in skyline, but I don't want it to appear to be the main instrument.

  • @hockeystar0330 yep, but I kind of miss the guitar in Halo 3, for one level - the covenant.

  • yes, becomes really apparent in ODST when you are all alone and this great music comes up. Gives a feeling of being small and alone

  • @hockeystar0330 so you didn't like Halo 2?

  • @ComeClaritySucks No, I did like it! I like all of the halo games! I just prefer this musical style personally. It helps me enjoy the story on a more connected level.

  • @hockeystar0330 lol yea just forget about halo 2

  • @hockeystar0330 what about the og halo theme

  • @hockeystar0330 They tried it with Halo 2, remember? Got bands like incubus and Breaking Benjamin to help fill their soundtrack, but players and critics found that it takes away the ability of getting the players more passionate about the story line rather than "i'm gonna blow up some aliens and somethin about an arbiter." The Rookie is alone, everyone knows the city's time is short, and the sad atmosphere with the dark, cold rainy streets... well, can you smell what i'm shovelin here?

  • @hockeystar0330 well said, that's exactly what I think!

  • @hockeystar0330 Yup, actually scoring a game soundtrack rather than piling on one shite heavy guitar track after another really makes the difference.

HALO OST's remain among the best game OST's around, EVER.. (imho that is) ;)

P.S. Any proof needed just listen to "Sacred Icon Suite" from Halo 2.. Truly seminal work
