i suspect the centre mound of snow is the issue here because i drove up a much steeper snowy track with regular road tyres just last week without these probs. Needed the diff locked though but still no problem. I use challenger tyres which have a slightly deeeper tread than some road tyres, which probably gave me all the edge I needed. Snow tyres would have sent me up that slope like a rat up a drain pipe. Extraordinary performance from snow tyres..amazing things. Touaregs dont need em
