There are hidden messages in many Beatles' songs, but they are not exactly what Manson interpreted them to be. To learn how to hear the hidden meanings, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the first result, then open "The Present" and read through the section about The Beatles.
Ringo once said he doesn't play over the vocals or something like that. And didn't like drum solos he only played 1 solo with the Beatles on the Abbey Road album he is a GREAT DRUMMER.He has a style of his own just like all the Beatles did. That's what makes them who they are" STILL TODAY THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME".
@raintalonwindclan yea.... they were, but like john used to beat his women all the time (except yoko) and the rest took drugs (not necessarily a bad thing) and cheated on their women. Its the fact that they were flawed that influenced their music and made it so good!
The Beatles were the reason for music, it gave people a reason for life. Grow your hair for peace, bagism....it was all an escape. I am a lover and a believer in them and their music. John to me was the most driven and actually into his music, Ringo is the best musician because he loves his drums and you can see it when he plays. Paul has such a unique voice style and way of being, his music is amazing, I love loving it! George! OMG! I love his psychedelic way, what an amazing being!
I have the original mono mix on vinyl which I bought in the early 1970s. The first thing I noticed with the remastered mono mix The bird calls in "Blackbird" and the pig grunts in "Piggies" are identical to the stereo mix. Those sound effects on the original true mono mix are quite different. I think you just took the stereo mix and mix it into mono yourself?
"Ringo is a damn good drummer. He is not technically good, but I think Ringo's drumming is underrated the same way Paul's bass playing is underrated. I think Paul and Ringo stand up with any of the rock musicians. Not technically great -- none of us are technical musicians. None of us could read music. None of us can write it. But as pure musicians, as inspired humans to make the noise, they are as good as anybody." -Lennon, Playboy 1980 Interview
"Ringo was a star in his own right in Liverpool before we even met. He was a professional drummer who sang and performed and had Ringo Star-time and he was in one of the top groups in Britain but especially in Liverpool before we even had a drummer. So Ringo's talent would have come out one way or the other as something or other." -John Lennon, Playboy 1980 Interview
Paul McCartney (on Larry King Live, 2007): "We loved him. And we just thought he was the very best drummer we'd ever seen. And we wanted him in the group. We were big fans of his."
“Ringo, Moonie(Keith Moon), and John Bonham would be my three main drummers. Not technically the best by a long shot but for feel and emotion and economy, they’re always there. Particularly, Ringo."-Paul McCartney, Many Years From Now
piggies isn't about cops actually, that's a common misconception. Harrison wrote it about the state of society at the time and how no one cared about what was going on around them they just cared about themselves(like pigs)
Ringo is the best songwriters drummer of all time. Tasteful & sympathetic. In later years when asked was Ringo the best drummer in the world, John joked "He wasn't even the best in the Beatles". This throwaway line is a more popular one with fools who think Ringo was "lucky" than the one John used to all his session men in the 70's when they just could not "get" where he was coming from. "Why can't you just play it like Ringo". I guess you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone.
@atticusallstars actually john's comment was'nt directed at ringo but was yet another dig at paul. who had taken to overdubbing ringo's drumming because he wanted it a certin way to his own likiing during the white album sessions. which is also when ringo quit for awhile till the others wooed him back.paul had become very hard to work with. john's comment was sarcasam for how paul viewed himself.
Piggies was one of the inspirations for the Charles Manson murders. He thought that the line "what they need's a damn good wacking!" was meant as what they need is to die.

My favourite beatles in order:
1. George Harrison (because he went to India to learn sitar, which is incredibly cool)
2. Paul McCartney (beaten to the top spot because he wrote Honey Pie - which I hate)
3. Ringo Starr (his narration of Thomas the Tank Engine was an integral part of my childhood)
4. John Lennon (Didn't like his glasses)
I'm just joking by the way. I love them all equally.
