  • adhd?

  • Bert is highly talented. I am just an amateur, but I want to create a fusion of east and west world music for yoga studios and to produce a CD. I really was happy to hear that this Motif has tabla drum loops. Im looking for that. Does Yamaha Motif offer a better bank of authentic ethnic sounds like tampura, sitar, tablas, bamboo flute than Roland, Korg , Kawai, Kurzweil in addition to the more commen sounds of acostic bass, electric piano. etc... Which brand is also the most user friendly ?

  • you should know how to use cubase 5 in order to connect the pc and the motif

  • MJ 4 life.

  • superb private investigation.........

  • you still do weddings?

  • is the vocalizer coming from the motif?

  • Lol u could make a whistle worth buying. Anyone who would like to buy me one of these motif xf7 workstations are welcome as I can't afford one :0(

  • Which song is he playing at 3:00 ???

  • @iPodTouchMusic96 I believe it's "Clocks" from Coldplay. :-)

  • i just bought the yamaha motif xf8. wow he really mastered that shit. they need a tutorial tbh. so fucking hard to use it. i want to connect it to cubase until now i can't.

  • @androcci Cubase is hard to use , I have a MOX8 and used the trial period and now can't validate it ha this stuff is super frustrating so I hear you there, they really should make a tutorial.

  • @Pianocarneseur12 cubas is easy lol some stuff i have on my channel when i had a sound card and a synth. No longer though it all got stolen! no insurance anyhow cubase 5 ftw

  • @Liquadia1 Lol iguess I just need a good tutorial for it to validate it after using the trial period.

  • MICRO-KID !!!

  • cool

  • Does the yamaha motif xf works with fl studio or ableton live as a midi controller

  • @reymysteriojunior619 Yes. It does.

  • If I had one of these I would never leave my house..

  • ce clavier me fait rêver..."this machine make me dream"...

  • Bonjour,

Sympa de faire des démos comme cela mais filé des tuyaux aussi non ?

  • I JUST GOT ONE OF THESE MONSTERS!

  • I love how he uses the worst sound to play the melody of MJ's song after the big rave he gave for the XF. Nice 1.

  • So what is better synthesizer or workstation?

  • bert smorenberg for president........

  • miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii la voglioooo buuhuhuhuhu qnt costa?!

  • WIth this machine, in 10 minutes you can make better music than 99% of the "popular" crap put out there today.

  • expensive :D

  • I can't wait to see Yamaha's response to Korg Kronos. I'm sure they can make something better but can they do it cheaper ?

  • i really like this synth but i dont know, is it just me?? for i am seeing that all of these High end Synths are starting to sound all the same. Nothing really truly unique about this synth. Some new features in a new box,,bla bla bla....& Lot's of money

  • what's the song name 3:00 ??

  • @Luccasio1 Speed of Sound by Coldplay

  • @iio58 no, no... "Clocks" by Coldplay :)

  • @iio58 I stand corrected (they all sound the same from CP ;)

  • I don't have first hand experience with this one but from going over past products I think they went ahead of the rest when it comes to getting a good sounding mix with least effort, something that people who like to spend more time actually playing than tweaking sounds can appreciate. Of course engineer with tons of libs and plugins and vintage gear can beat this quality wise but the route to being very good engineer is different to being very good player, which are you?

  • I really wish I could purchase this beautiful keyboard. If I got this my music production would sound better (=

  • Bert should work for KORG instead and promote the new Kronos.

  • jahuuu ok:))

  • Does that "StrangerMoscow" sound (Michael Jackson's Stranger in Moscow) one of the sounds?? LOVE it! GREAT song, too!

  • they trying to fallow after korg m3 work station, it sounds like everything is compressed, like the korg m3, i use to own the korg m3, i soled it because i hated that pre compressed sound. maybe that way it sound on youtube...

  • @Hamalakwath That's too bad if true (unless they have some simple way to dial it back), but this video alone can't be the judge since this one has really bad quality for some reason. I haven't yet figured out why but some uploads just have horrible audio quality and others can sound just like a high quality mp3.

  • @fourbarposer TRUE. but just listing to the sounds, it doesn't really fit the hip hop R&B Genere.

the Roland Fatom Gx will eat the Motif up alive. i was check out the FG on youtube, man thats a "bad ass" workstation...lol

  • @Hamalakwath Fantom's a placebo... I'm a scientist and I got the XF lol

  • @guytoob the Fantom g is the best borad out there. ha ha ha ha. the XF is good if you doing sound scores for Hollywood. how people out you know get a sound score deal?

  • @guytoob the fantom ARX brass will eat the XF alone

  • @Hamalakwath That's just like 1MB worth of sound in a $200 box. Still, Motif XF 741MB > Fantom G 256MB :D

  • @guytoob the Fantom g 6 7 8, upgrade ver 1.50 allows up to 1gb now..lol plus you can record up to 24 tracks of audio and mix it with 16 midi tracks whopping 40 tracks, you get on board fx for all tracks midi and audio, you get 4 laywers for each patch, not counting live mode. let say, if you got a bass player and guitar player they can record their parts via audio tracks. if you want, you can also have real drummer play drum via stereo input via mixer to mic out your drum kit! XF cant do that!

  • @Hamalakwath Dude, the v1.5 update for Fantom G is only 32MB... I don't know what kind of junk you need to be smoking for it to turn in to 1GB of wave samples lol

  • @guytoob @guytoob I'M SMOKING P***SSY, NAH, JUST A JOKE DUDE! it comes with 30mb on board, its expandable to 1gb dude! you know how to read right dude? go to web site i sent you$ and click on Roland keyboards check it out for yourself dude$ if you are a keyboard salesman you need to step up your game dude$ and learn the keyboard game. ah ahhahaha lol! by the way I love them pretty east indian women on your page. i love me some indian women!

  • This is retarded

  • virus its much better :)

  • What a show-off lick my ass presentation! It makes me sick.

  • Yamaha / Korg / Roland = xBox360 / PS3 / Wii. It is almost like price fixing but with feature sets. Korg Kronos is the first keyboard to start incorporating sound libraries that actually require more storage space than what is found in my mobile phone. The others are still on MB size libraries. All I can say is they are lucky that Native Instruments didn't pull their finger out and actually create a hardware synth for their software libraries. That would be dangerous!

  • They can build whatever they want...but Roland is Roland...Sorry Mate !!!!!

    Yamaha sucks...

  • They can build whatever they want...but Roland is Roland...Sorry Mate !!!!!

    Yamaha sucks...

  • Question:Can you load WAV files into the flash drive (drums from hardrive) and make beats with them?

  • Was ein Bullshit

  • @jamaikasoul Sagst du nur weil du dir das Ding nicht leisten kannst ;-)

  • Damn. Cant decide between this or the XS. For anyone who has it, is it a huge improvement from the XS?

  • Yamaha should release a RS7000XF, the best sequencer ever...

  • @wolf2161 Get you a OpenLabs Neko then just upgrade the software in the future and I guess

you could play your old keyboard through it.

  • This guy looks like Adam Savage from Mythbusters!

  • Hey Bert give me 2,500 Dlls and I'll buy one.

  • adam savage in music

  • Motif is the best!!!!

  • Bert is probably the world's best synth demoist(sic) - other OEM should take note. Those lame Roland and Korg demos could do with some help...

  • Pretty impressive keyboard. I own 4 boards and an upright piano: TS12, Triton Standard with expansion cards worth hundreds of pounds, KORG SP but this blows all of them away. Initially I was looking at the MO8 as I am not into Yamaha as much as I am KORGs. I just needed another 88 key controller that had some decent stand-alone sounds. After Will at guitar center showed me the arpeggiator, I decided it would be a cool addition to my studio. It's still in the box...watch out for my videos on it.

  • wolf2161. Do you think that manufactures have the perfect comupter instrument is their labs. Ehh. XF has just biger waverom, ram and more effect, appregiators, etc. I remember when first saplers where out and computers just did not have power to sample at enough rate to make palyed sound 20% real. What sampler or ADC does it approximating the real waveform thru integral equation. But this equation is not perfect, some info is lost in the process.Good ear can catch that.

  • Well what do you want RedDevilNumber 10. It's a computer simulated sound. Like any simulation it does, and never wiil sound like real instrument, but you can edit it quicklyon a computer, try that with real instruments. And if you are not satisfied with samples provided by any syth manufacturer you can make your own sample banks with your real instruments but there will always be some quality loss due to microphone and ADC. Computer sound is always 90-99% approximation of the real thing.

  • Nice machine, probably influence new purchasers and rich people that buy whatever comes out, but as an XS user, I don't see myself running out to get one...

  • Motif lovers follow me @IAmHitzville on Twitter!

  • Love Bert's enthusiasm!

    Motif XF,I want one! ;-)

  • this guy is great at what he does man he is epic

  • Btw, pure analog synths like the mini-moog/prophet, and specially rhodes keys are extremely difficult to emulate. If you only need rhodes, piano, organ sounds, then buy a Nord Electro 3 for best emulation on the market, in terms of rhodes, piano etc.

  • When I bought a Yamaha Motif XS it rocked my world!! Revolutionized my studio and music making. The Motif XS/XF is a complete studio, its super all-around for all types of music. The sound is amazing, in my opinion the best workstation on the market. When buying sound/voice libraries on the "motifator" website the sound quality gets even better. The Motif XF have flash memory and a little bit better sound engine and the software is updated. But the Motif XS satisfy me completely.

  • WHAT THE DIFFERENCE ABOUT XS8 ???????????????

IT IS THE SAME BUT WITH NICE COLOR,

    YAMAHA YOU MAKE JUST MARKETING!!

  • wow,my freind just bought the xf8

we will producing material on it soon, its incredible

  • i will do everything to buy it ....i have start already working 14 hours each day to make money.....when i hear this workstation...and i mean the videos on youtube... my head is full of music .....this workstation will help me to get the music out

  • Biggest Feature "Tap Tempo directly on main screen" :D

  • Nice.. but these are SO expensive..

  • @wolf2161 I don't think it is the keyboard manufacture's goal to replace real instruments. I produce beats and it a lot easier to do everything in a keyboard then to purchase and learn all of these instruments. Yes real instruments will always sound better. As far as the Oasys. Yea it was over priced but, its the best workstation keyboard. wolf is right as well. These companies could do better but, they have to inch there way better for each version so they can make money.

  • Amazing the michael jackson tribute in this video awesome thank you very much!

  • Most of the musicians in DC use the Motif. We traded our PC88 for it and never looked back. Hit up Phil at the Washington Music Center in Wheaton, Md. He shipped me one over night!!!

  • so much memory, so weak samples...

  • I'll save more money by getting more RAM and data for my XS. It's just a souped up XS... They'll come out with another synthesizer next month...

  • @Muziqstar you are right about being able to update your XS... but it won't have the flash memory (which is actually the only "real" plus that this instrument supplies. I don't know about next month my dude... lol

  • Sounds very professional and great video , but... Its just more tricks and gimmicks, menus, submenus and buttons. I have a Juno G, I guess this thing is a lot more expensive, but has little more to offer . The only reason I would buy this if I could afford it would be the piano sounds, they are superb. Then again I could probably afford a baby grand used for what this costs....Why oh Why can't Yamaha bring out a new CS80 or CS70m, real instruments that inspire creativity

  • Awesome.

  • Not possible yet to get one in Switzerland !!!! Do somobody know how to get one Motf XF in Switzerland ???

    Thank you in advance

    Regards,

    Roman

  • @drummer140155 I also have the oasys as well and I've only used my xs7 about 10-15 times out of the hundreds of gigs vie done in the 2yrs I've had it. I played this new XF8 keyboard and I'm totally unamused by it. It's like this new model could've easily been simply an upgrade to the xs instead of a whole new board. And for an extra 3 grand I just don't see where it's worth it! And the supposed higher sample quality in the sounds don't come thru into my ears when I played some of them. It's l

  • I'll buy it...

  • 3:00-3:10 "Clocks" Coldplay? Looks like this is going to be an awesome piece of machinery. Sadly, barely able to afford a used XS6...

  • i know he didnt make the demo. i said ALL these companies have the same sounding trance demos. and i still hate them.

  • fantastic Bert again!!

  • those scarbee rhodes sound real good red. add those in the xf and some good moog, arp & juno 106 sounds and it would be something real special. the drum kit played here was okay i would like to hear more. i think the drums and modulation on the motif es is weak. i agree about the sound of workstations.

  • @wolf2161 These manufacturers have to eke out as much as they can from their R&D expenditure. If they made the perfect instrument then how would they get us to buy future models. This, of course, is good for them but not so good for us poor customers.

  • @dtgut He's certainly had plenty of practice with the Motif line of keyboards.

  • i like it but i hate these trance demos from all these companies. who listens to trance anyway? sucks. it all sounds the same. trance music and trance sounds suck. they should make them a option.

  • @ccfunk1 You can definitely count me as one who doesn't listen to Trance.

  • Why Yamaha, why don't you make a new version of MO6/8?? This keyboard is very good but everyone can't afford it........Other synthesizers are quite old.

  • @prince4d I'm sure they will.

  • it is cool but they are building them closer and closer to the tyros one man band keyboards what ever happened to instruments made to play with other musicians ?

  • @Picturemymusic Even these new tools (or toys?) won't replace real musicians, just because it's so much fun to play with other people ;)

  • @prince4d You need to play somemore gigs man get your money together and you won't be sorry.

  • @prince4d Now you would be happy to announce that released a new mo series synth. The MoX6 & MoX8

check it out yamaha synth dot com, its based off the motif xs. Enjoy hope it inspire you and grab one when it comes out in stores soon...

  • They did... It;s called MO X.....

  • @wolf2161 If you're only looking for those two types of sounds then a workstation would be overkill for your needs.

  • Haha! I met this guy ten years ago at the original motif release...WOW! he still here.

  • @hliu24 I wonder where he will be in ten years time.

  • @RedDevilNumber10,

It wouldn't surprise me if he is still with Yamaha in 10 years time, because he seems to really enjoy what he is doing. I mean who wouldn't want to be a Yamaha endorser, showcasing Yamaha instruments, going to instrument trade fairs to showcase some more and maybe even selling the products and offering assistance to people like Stevie Wonder or other big Yamaha users? ;-)

  • @hliu24 hahaha probably ten years ago he told you this is the best yamaha MO keyboard in the world to get you.

  • @hliu24 He is the best demonstrator of the world. Yamaha will keep him in any cost.

  • This is no match for my OASYS 88! Tough it's abandoned, it still rules..... (Until Kurzweil releases the mouch awaited "K-3000".) I had the XS for 6 months, but never liked it.

Even my Kurzweil PC3 sounds better than this.

  • @drummer140155 I think all workstations sound pretty much the same, however, with this new Motif you can add flash cards which will allow you to load in some high quality samples such as Native Instruments Scarbee electric pianos which sound better than any workstation electric pianos. I think it will be a while before we see a Kurzweil K3000 and we might even see another Motif before then.

  • Fantastic intro... Micro Kid by Level 42

  • @svepet42 Well spotted.

  • "Pass me me the naan" - what the F#$% kind of title is that? They let morons come up with names for their patches, so the names are moronic. Get your facts right about India, before you play Arabic music and pass it off as Indian.

  • He kind of reminds me of Mc Lovin from superbad..LOL

  • although they have improved the screen i wish it were a bit bigger..like the fantom g or tyros 3..although overall the motif is the best workstation..in terms of sound.imo.does any one know if the xf has direct usb recording in wav format?

  • i play b3 the organs SUCK

  • 5:35 It's so much fun? It's cause you can play that damn good! :P Hope I can play half of what you play.... lol

  • This guy made me purchase the ES and the XS.

Now I'm on the way to purchase the XF.

    Damn you Bert !!!!

  • @schlumberger112 send me your xs for free?? lol!
