  • deboanair is everything I could mean for rock. Is an unforgettable masterpiece, it shows how big can be the power of a song. This tense and desperate live version just makes me feel better.

  • Amazing!

  • man, this is the best version of the song on youtube. I just wish the video was better quality.

  • oh mein gott, rockt das, super live band, diese guitarren, true rock and roll! I love them!

  • what a wonderful song.

  • i wonder how many english girls in the front row got moist that day.

  • huh? I just read the 33 1/3 book about Gentlemen and it has a quote from Dulli saying Earle fell of his stool drunk halfway through. Which was effectively the last straw for Earle's time in the band.

  • @thetwilitekid19

Yeah, I just read that too. WTF. Steve seemed to be on his game for this whole show ... er what I've seen of it. Something is askew.

  • I love the way Greg Dulli sings, he is a rock God who also writes as sexy as he sings.

  • You're definitely not the only woman to think so, MsDebauchery! Whenever I hear this song, it makes me think of the girl I was dating fifteen or so years ago. Whenever she heard this song, she'd get so moist and horny that she'd nearly slide off of whatever chair she was sitting in! (Good memories! :-) )

  • legend= greg dulli

  • *swoon* awesome voice Greg Dulli

  • wypierdol

  • What a great song/band. I sure wish I had seen them live before they broke up. Nice post though.

  • I bought "Gentelmen" 14 years ago and I still can get enough of this album. the early 90's were the best ever.

  • Afghan Whigs will always be legends, Black Love and 1965 were classic albums too.

  • Man the drums are awesome!Wonderful performance by one of the most forgotten bands of the 90's.

  • Steve Earle must have killed many a drum kit during the day. I wish he never left the Whigs. Rumor is him and Dulli aren't on speaking terms.

  • why they named themselves Afghan wighs?????????????

  • Well the name Whigs has applied to a few political parties and movements in the past like the British Whigs how gradually turned in to the Liberal Party and the in the US Whigs were patriots who supported the American Revolution as opposed to loyalists who wished to remain under British rule. I suppose the band thought that Afghan Whigs were people who fought against Soviet occupation and control in Afghanistan during the '80s. I don't know they, I could just be talking bollocks.

  • Yes I think you are. Nice try though.

  • Thanks for that insightful comment. Why do you think they are called Afghan Whigs then?

  • Real good sound quality! And where's Reading?

  • Reading is in the English county of Berkshire - not that far from London. It's famous for the annual Reading Rock Festival - I think it's twinned with Düsseldorf, Germany?!?

  • I was there. About one row from the front for the Whigs. In fact me and my friend were in a photo in the review of the festival in the NME, shaking hands with Greg! The Sunday afternoon of the festival, I believe. Chili Peppers headlined. Weather was ace!!

  • f'n awesome thx so much 4 this, whigs r special
