  • Does the camera is working?

  • @trashdolla Yes, just like everything else, the camera is working as it should.

  • @trashdolla HELLO i kann speak english too

  • how do you go to the app drawer

  • @thunderlion666 As the standard launcher doesn't have one, you have to use another launcher that offers a dedicated app drawer (like Go Launcher, ADW or Launcher Pro, my favorite).

  • You should definitely retitle it. Just a MIUI 2.3 skin.

  • @jugarnaut40 I'll just copy and paste the comment from a few lines below why it's a bit more:What is is changed in the ICS builds: The ICS frameworks are implemented (improved power management, RAM management, sensor management, HW acceleration, new transitions); that's why it says Android 4.0.1 in the system info.

To see real ICS combined with MIUI take a look at my latest video.

  • ok i installed the sbf flile but now is running on 2.2, do i still have to rootet, the blue light doesnt go out any more, what should i do to install the ics on my defy

  • @jmybll You mean you want to install the ROM in the video, right? Of course you need t

to be rooted and the recovery menu (Sndinit) must be installed. What you have to mind: First install another MIUI ROM (I used this one goo. gl/XUzsP ), then install the actual MIUI ICS ROM from here goo. gl/LUbdc , but this time WITHOUT WIPING!

  • would this work on defy plus??????????????

  • @Arjoma92 buddy, its ridiculous to say this is V.4.0..its just miui 2.3+black ice theme

  • @Curlyamal It is not full ICS based MIUI (MIUI v4 will arrive in the coming days). But what is changed in the ICS builds: The ICS frameworks are implemented (improved power management, RAM management, sensor management, HW acceleration, new transitions).

  • i like gingerbread look better and i wonder if the phone would be as smooth as gingerbread

  • @ruerue28 This thing is rather based on Gingerbread, the looks come from MIUI plus the ICS theme on top of it. And for me it is the smoothest ROM I have ever used on the Defy.

  • @Arjoma92 cm7 is smoother...

    cm9 waaay smoother

  • Does this work on Defy+ ?

  • @sulliswanton Can't say. If you're lucky it works but it's not made for the Plus so maybe it doesn't work...

If you want to try it, remember that you have to install this ROM first goo. gl/XUzsP and then install the ICS ROM over it without wiping.

  • ola tendras algun tutorial para intalarlo en motorola defy -- soy novato pero aprendo rapido si tengo pasos a seguir -- espero tu respuesta

  • @4826estilo I will send you a message. ( Espero que entiendan Inglés, de lo contrario tendrá que utilizar Google Translate.)

  • How to install this?

  • @raulxider Goof that you asked. First you have to install another MIUI ROM (I used this one goo. gl/XUzsP ), then install the actual MIUI ICS ROM from here goo. gl/LUbdc , but this time WITHOUT WIPING! The complete process (rooting, installing and using the recovery menu...) is the same as in my CM7.1 tutorial video.

  • @Arjoma92 it"s not so easy....

  • @Arjoma92 can you help me with how to instal oo. gl/XUzsP ? I dont know how instal them from recovery:(, i am in but she stop in the verification process

  • @raulxider It is a normal ROM (a zip file) you have to put on your SD in the phone. I don't know what verification process you're talking about, I would recommend watching my CM7.1 tutorial video again where I show how to root and install the recovery menu you need to install any ROM; and in the video description there aare also the download links for the files you need.

If you still have questions, pease rather send me a message.

  • @Arjoma92 i have instal this MIUI ROM from here goo. gl/LUbdc, but my phone don"t start, shes block on the MI logo ....now how tu instal the secound MIUI?

  • @raulxider Oh, you didn't read my instructions properly! You installed the wrong thing first, you need the other one (pikachu...) before this one (scotland... ).

I'm afraid you can't just install it again in the correct order now (or do you still get the blue LED and the recovery menu?). Probably you have to flash a clean Froyo now and start again...

  • @Arjoma92 the recovery menu it s OK like at you. Can you give me you IM adress(yahoo, or else) becouse I need help

  • che y ya es estable esta room? la quiero estable.. cuando esta terminada?

  • @gallemoncitoify 100% estable y confiable, tal vez el mejor que he usado!

  • Sorry is not calvick is dalvick, I also think I didnt do the rsd when I rooted it right

  • @jmybll So now you are on a workings but laggy CM7? I would wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik cache) in the recovery menu, afterwards there shouldn't be a reason to be laggy. If there is something else messed up, flash a clean Froyo sbf via RSDLite and install CM7 again on top of that.

  • @Arjoma92 The bad thing is that it does not charge, so i can not do anything via Rsd, also when i put clear dalvik cache it just pops up again the same screen as nothing has happened, Thanks

  • Hey a while ago i earased the defy to factory reset and it stop working, i could enter to recovery mode and stock recovery, then i let it borrow to a friend to see if he could fix it and he upmdated to cm9, since it was buggy i downgraded it to cm7 but i didnt earese calvik cache, and it has the same problem, please do you know how to fix it

  • it's stable or its a beta rom? and have some bug?

  • @PeTeTe995 What you see in this video is not the full ICS experience (the reason I called it "kind of"), it is actually more Gingerbread with some bits of ICS. But this "kind of" ROM is 100% reliable, stable and practically bugfree.

The real, full ICS on the other hand is also available for the Defy(a very early build of CM9), I also made a video on that, but it is much more unstable and has some bugs(it is awesome to see and use "real" ICS on the Defy, but its bugs made me switch back to this ROM).

  • defy plus ?

  • @MultiVictory7 I just have it on the original Defy obviously, don't have a Plus. But like basically every ROM for the Defy it should also be compatible with the Defy+, but it wasn't made for it so it can have a few bugs (i.e. I don't know for sure if the battery will charge up to 100%)

  • @Arjoma92 Thank you very much for your information, what I find strange is that the battery, change the durability?

  • @MultiVictory7 I know about another MIUI ROM (not Galnet MIUI, not ICS) for the original Defy but there were also people who installed it on their Defy Plusses. It worked pretty fine but from what I read there is a bug that the battery can not be fully charged (probably because the Plus's battery is a bit bigger), so the battery lasts not quite as long. I don't know if it's the same for Galnet MIUI ICS.

  • How do I install it???

  • @timeliner91 Pretty much like every other ROM (like CM7.1), download the zip and install it via the recovery menu. Maybe for this ICS ROM, if you get a boot loop after installing, you have to install another MIUI ROM first and then install MIUI ICS over it without wiping.

  • just wondering how smooth it is overall and if the camera works?

  • @WestWizzy Really smooth, camera works fine.

  • @Arjoma92 cheers i did a full whip when i installed it, now its looping splash screen (HTC Desire)

  • where is the app drawer

  • @MrAwesome9724 This is the original MIUI launcher which doesn't have a seperate app drawer but puts all apps directly on the homescreens. I also need one so I always use an alternative launcher like Launcher Pro or ADW Ex.

  • I just bricked my Defy because of CM7! Good thing warranty still worked and they replaced the board for free! yeah so i'm ready to brick again lol

  • @fightnight14 again, you can't really brick the Defy! Even if t looks completely dead ir doesn't boot you still can enter the bootloader mode, connect it t the PC and then flash a clean Froyo firmware. After some minutes it should reboot and be repaired!

Or did you even try this and it didn't work? In case you didn't know it, take it as a tip when your Defy looks bricked the next time.

  • @Arjoma92 I know. The first one was "looks like brick" but still RSDLite read it and I enable to flash it. The next time, the phone is freezing after about 30 seconds when you turn on and later you really can't turn it on and RSDLite unables to detect the phone.

  • i installed but look. every 5 seconds appear this "the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly defy" WHY :s

  • @letanois231 I sent you a message ;)

  • For some reason this doesn't work on my defy! I soft bricked the phone when trying to go from the Defy+ to this rom. Flashsed nordic froyo via Rsdlite and was up and running. Re rooted, re installed 2nd init. But after installing i get a really annoying boot loop with MIUI logo and a sound.

    Any ideas??

  • @jkenigs Yes. Install any other version of MIUI first ( I used this one goo. gl/fD7Vn , but it doesn't really matter). Should work, just let it boot one time. Then go back to the recovery menu and install the GalnetMIUI then WITHOUT wiping!

  • @Arjoma92 Thanks again man! It worked perfectly, I actually find stock MIUI pretty nice so i'll give it a try for the next week or so to see if it works for me.

  • It's only the theme...

  • @PrydaCro It is a bit more than a theme (although the ICS theme works on any MIUI ROM). It is Galnet MIUI+ the ICS frameworks under the hood (some subtle changes) + some other tweaks like the ICS screen animations.

But right, it is far away from the full Ice cream sandwich experience. If you want to see that, wait a few hours, then I will have another video showing one of the first usable CM9 nightlies!

  • @Arjoma92 ahhh that's it...thanks for the information sorry for my skepticism and sorry for my bad english :)

  • is work even on Defy+ ?

  • @fokozuynen2048 Theoretically every MIUI ROM made for the Defy also runs on the Defy+. But as they are neither made for the + nor tested on it, you probably have to expect more bugs.

  • this is better than cm7?

  • @letanois231 I like MIUI better than CM7 in general (because of hte UI, great theme support, a bit better stability imho). And this ICS built can be considered to be the best MIUI version. So yes, I would prefer this.

  • @Arjoma92 i need to make a video how to install it :D

  • @letanois231 It is not more than another version of Cyanogenmod, so the installation steps are the same as for CM7.1 (just install the zip from the recovery menu).

  • @Arjoma92 If I install this ROM via the recovery menu... And suppose if i want to go back to Cyanogenmod7 then would it be possible via formatting data/ cache and then installing the cm7.zip .. thank you

  • @evolution1g Switching as you described should work without problems as it's really not more than a zip to install from the recovery menu like CM7 (and wiping will be necessary before).

BTW, installing this ROM may be a bit different: eventually you have to install any other MIUI version (preferably another Galnet MIUI) first and then install this ICS built WITHOUT wiping, otherwise you may get a bootloop.
