Great video. The old Ingleside Station for the Rock Island and the PRR was also a station with character, yet photos of that station (guessing it was torn down about 1972) are hard to find. Thanks for preserving this station in video.
I've got to say that this station has been my favorite. I've walked through this old station before. I miss it to. I don't even like the new station they made! I just like how they made the old one. It has like bridges everywhere with amasing views! It's very sad to see them knock it down. But they the best chose. They had to knock it down because that station was falling apart very fast! At least I was able to see it. I even took some pictures about it. Thank you for posting this video!
I remember passing this station as a kid going to the Adler planetarium... I thought that it was IMPOSSIBLE for a building like that to be held in mid-air, much less above train tracks...
sAD HOW they are taking it down. I miss it as well 2. Wen I was bout 7 or 8. I remember getting off there to go to the musuem. This video reminded me of what it was like b4 i grew up.
Great video! I was there just this past April and shot some pics; perhaps fittingly I used my 50+ year-old Nikon S2 camera. The Roosevelt Rd. station is a classic and will be missed.

It's coming down now. Some of the steel beams were rusted clear through. I don't know how this thing didn't fall down by itself.

To bad there going to be takeing it down.
Every time I toke the train to the city,
I would look at whats happening to the old station.
They've already started to build the new station.
