As much as I understand Mr. Goto's plight, I do not agree that he is a hero of sorts. As a veteran and a survivor of extreme family abuse, I know that Mr. Goto could of done some things to escape his situation. Of course what happened was wrong. Peaple are afraid of what they do not know. The answer is education. But do not demonize those who choose not to beleive.

the person who said them demonized those people who did not believe in him, and turned him over to the Romans to be killed? There are many reasons why I joined the UM well over 30 years ago, one was that Jesus didn't come to die on the cross. Jesus says those words to them who were plotting to kill him. Jesus was even willing to give his life for these.

When Members of the Unification Church are "demonized" by others, by critics who don't even know what they are talking about then this most likely is fine with you? If Mr. Goto is not a prime example of this treatment then I don't know who is! "His religion is evil and he must be be removed from it, even by confinement."
I'd like to see how Mr. Goto or anyone here *demonized* others in the remarks here.

They *lost* their son certainly not of anything the UM did but by what they did themselfs, if they want to blame some-one then it is their own doing, surely not Mr. Goto's.
SInce they did or don't understand the faith, they were fearful of looseing there son. Unfortunately, through their fears they did just tha they lost their son. And his confinement was nothing compared to what I have seen. What they did was wrong. But understandable. The Moon Family Resume is not exactly something to write home about. It dose, make them human.
So you can understand that someone can hold a person in confinement? Sorry I most certainly can not tolerate such acts. I doubt very much that you would be so "understanding" if the "Moon Family" had locked up people to make accept their teachings and join the UM.
Since everything the UM stands for or teaches can be found on our Websites, my last advice is to look up what we ourselfs have to say. This way the fear of being brainwashed would be minimal :-)
Look, I am trained to look at bothe sides of an issue and to cme up with an understanding for bothe sides. Then decide where to go from there.

Mr. Goto's sacrifice is so amazing. He was just as sacrificial as martyred saints in early christianity.
I was talking about this with my dad, and we were thinking that people who have sacrificed so much for this movement, like Mr. Goto, should have a title. (for example, how we call the True Children Nim)
Maybe "in nae" which means "to endure".
So Mr. Goto would be Goto In Nae.
I think it would be moving for them. They deserve recognition for their imense dedication.
I wish Mr. Goto the best in his fight against religious injustice and intolerance, America has to wake up in this issues as well as the rest of the world, in order for peace to come to earth. Long live True Parents!!!

How did I demonize you? Calling you a critic is already demonizing? Then you have indeed a very thin skin. We have been called worse then that.
Imprisoning someone for over 12 years is just a dumb
incident? And then you say I don't see reality? I will
discuss this issue here where it belongs.
How do you know that his own family who kidnapped him has hurt feeling? Are they "hurt" because he didn't recant his faith?

I was a theripist for 26 years and delt with all kinds of conflicts. There is more room on facebook. This is limited to 500 words.
They were hurt because he joined a faith they don't understand.
