  • hi,

I AM REALLY HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE FIREPLACE IN OUR HOME, IF I TRY TO BURN THE WOOD FROM THE FIREPLACE ALL SMOKE GOES OUT FROM ,AND THE WHOLE HOUSE TURNS TO HAVE A BIG SMOKE PLEASE ADVICE ME ON WHAT TO DO PLEASE.

    THANK YOU

  • open the floo (at least i think thats what its called) it prevents cold air from getting in when a fire is not in use. so to have a fire you need to open it.

  • just die, one less problem in the world

  • have the chimny shoot cleaned out? or maybe it has a metal cover that is closed?

  • @victoriaproject07 Don't use the fire?

  • @victoriaproject07 If you live in a very cold climent, your house is pretty much airtight. Go outside and check to see if there is a vent to let outside in. If not, find a room not used much and open the window 3" or so. The air has to come from somewhere. Build a small fire to warm up the bricks to creat a draft and make sure the damper is all the way open. I'm running out of space, so this should work. When I was growing up, a wood fire was all we had to heat the house.
