  • To dispute all rumors, Ritchie, on the topic of the song, had said: "...[the song]... was Rainbow's child. Bob and I were jamming in the attic, and the music was of incredibly low quality, but we came up with this homage to Kashmir, but found no use to it. So, when me and the group got back together, I rummaged through my tapes, and found this peice, which didn't sound that bad later on."

  • If I remember correctly, Roger Glover said in some old interview that Perfect Strangers (the track) was built from pieces; Blackmore had the middle section (precisely this instrumental bit, that is) for ages, but never found what to do with it.

  • just goes to show Blackmoree was the driving force of Purple........Blackmore forever !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Not saying this isn't DP or Rainbow, but really it could be anybody.

I'll be convinced if/when it is released officially under either band's name.

  • This not blackmore. Sounds like my nephew jamming in the basement...

  • I'm confused. So was this "demo" of Perfect Strangers officially released on a Rainbow album? I like this version as much or better than the Deep Purple version on Perfect Strangers.

  • love it, can it be downloaded?

  • MERAVIGLIA DELLE MERAVIGLIE.....!!!!!

  • So maybe it was planned for Bonnet before he left?

Anyway, Ritchie always recycled material, like in parts:

DP "Slow Train" (Fireball outtake) -> "Make Your Move"

"Fire Dance" -> "Battle Rages On"

LA Connection -> Tite Squeze -> DP: One Man's Meat (aka Stroke at Midnight)

or anyone compared 1987s The Spanish Archer with Blackmore's Night's St. Theresa ??^^

Anyway, why not, since all songs are great.

  • I have always read that Bobby Rondinelli was on drums for that specific recording so it would be the Difficult To Cure pre-production sessions.
