  • no shoes in this dojo...... -_-

  • lol ive been taking jiu jitsu classes for a while and i ship out to basic in a month. i cant wait to roll with guys in the army. i hope there are some guys with a little more skill to face tho.

  • the 165 may have wrestling experience.. but I doubt it's good experience. He has horrible balance, horrible hips, no neck, no bridging.. no hand fighting, when he was on top he was way too high - this is all stuff that comes naturally to a wrestler.

  • ahahahahahahahah I sux at this.......-_____- still only levl 1

  • Haha and If you are faced with multiple opponents of course you are not going to intentionally go to the ground, but guess what you will likely end up there.

  • @Mr4433 I'd be happy to meet up with you & we can see if you are even able to take me to the ground within 2 to 3 minutes, if you're not already unconscious by then.

  • @PortaCustodis - Your so tough, too bad your all talk you little pussy.

  • Wow of course you live in Brooklyn. Any fight that I have been in for longer then 2 minuets ends up on the ground, we train ground techniques to disable and kill the enemy so you can get back on your feet. If you think that the Army as a whole can become proficient with striking you are ignorant and will get people killed. The last thing we want soldiers to do is go hands on with someone if they dont have to.

  • better watch that choke! that choke hand is whats gonna getcha.

  • MAC sucks. The old Combatives training we had when I was in is way better. This wrestling nonsense will get you killed.

  • @PortaCustodis - Really? The stationary old bullshit is better huh? You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. MACP is proven to be effective in combat. Wipe the cheetos crumbs off your face before you stain the shirt your mom just washed.

  • @Mr4433 Oh yeah? That's why the Army is changing it yet again (see article in Stars and Stripes and others online). You stand corrected. Obviously, it has proven to be ineffective or they wouldn't be changing it. Plus, the most effective systems are striking systems. Sambo, Krav Maga, Systema, all military systems, all heavily striking based. You stand corrected, private.

  • @PortaCustodis - Article? I am an instructor for the Army combatives program. The biggest changes made recently are tot he SMCT handbook and the added the entire LVL one combatives to the common tasks, which is almost all ground work except for the takedowns. So again, wipe the cheetos crumbs off your mouth.

  • @Mr4433 I was a combatives instructor when I was in, as well. I learned the old combatives (mainly muay thai and judo) and the MACP before I came home. So, I have the benefit of perspective here. The original combatives was far more trauma inducing than the modern version - which is why they decided to water it down. They want soldiers who are better prepared for "peacekeeping" operations. Same thing happened to the Marines' combatives system. Ask any Marine, they'll tell you.

  • @Mr4433 What's your unit and rank? I live in Brooklyn but I'd be happy to meet you and demonstrate what I'm talking about. Oh, and what's your obsession with cheetohs? Kind of weird. Here's a scenario for you - what if you're on the ground with a single enemy combatant trying to do some UFC bullshit when two of his buddies rush up and brain you with bricks? Yeah, I'd rather be on my feet where at least I have a chance to maneuver. On the ground, you have ZERO maneuverability.

  • @Mr4433 Look, you're clearly full of it. For one, you definitely were never an instructor of anything. An NCO would show a lot more professionalism than you have here. Second, you don't have any idea what you're talking about. Who said anything about high kicks to the head? Nobody. My point is that strikes induce far more trauma of a more lethal nature than grappling, which is why the most dangerous systems in the world are striking based.

  • @Mr4433 The Army and USMC changed their systems to deal with peacekeeping - restraining people instead of taking them out is preferred now. However, if you're on the ground, you lose the ability to face multiple opponents (because you can't maneuver on your back, you have to be on your feet), which is what you would be doing in all likelihood. Being on the ground also makes weapon control ten times more difficult - another situation that happens all the time.

  • @Mr4433 These are my opinions based on over a decade of military service and nearly two of martial arts training - there's no need to become so emotionally invested. Your personal "cheetoh" comments don't embarrass me - they embarrass you by showing the world what an unprofessional, immature brat you are. Clearly not what you claim to be. It's plain that you're a UFC fanboy who has zero combat experience. One on one wrestling matches almost never occur in reality. Get a grip, cherry.

  • @PortaCustodis - You are just like every other billy badass that thinks hes Chuck Norris when it comes to combatives. And "restraining them is preferred now" I think not. I am also in law enforcement and we restain people as part of custody and control. We train to disable and kill people in the Militarty.

  • I remember when I was in BCT I tapped a guy out w/ a half boston crab.

  • The object in army comabtives isn't to pin, its submission. You must obtain the dominant position.

  • and of course being the heavier opponent is an advantage too.

  • that was painful to watch...i do ju-jitsu, and i saw sooo many opportunities for each fighter to pin the other...

  • the MARINES are always so tough and badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    on youtube.

  • Yep, this looks like lvl 1 stuff actually. So no leg locks period. OCS, hah, you might do 40 hours, or a weeks worth which would only be lvl 1, which is a joke. though more people get hurt in lvl 1 then lvl 2. I tried getting to lvl 3 but you need to be e-5 or above. BTW, jujitsu is way better then judo. One of the Gracies (Rolsen I believe) helped develop MAC

  • ankle locks aint legal in army combatives

  • You are thinking of the heel hook, ankle lock is one of the least effective moves as it focuses on submission by pain, somthing that soldiers are trained to ignore. Heel hooks dont hurt, they just snap your knee and leaves your leg fucked for life, that is why they are not allowed

  • The heel hook is a type of ankle lock. You are referring to the straight ankle, or achilles lock. with enough pressure, an achilles lock can snap tendons. also, the heel hook hurts like a son of a bitch, well before it does any damage to the ankle or knee.

  • Ive been heel hooked, it really does not hurt a whole lot, but of course when it does snapp I guess it really, really hurts, achilles lock hurts to, but it is still ineffective, it is very easy to escape from it

  • I have never wrestled before I'm going to get my ass kicked in OCS. How much training do they give you in wrestling?

  • its not wrestling..... its brazilian ju-jitsu wrestling would not work with combatives

  • Dude that was locked in near naked could got the guy to tap with ankle lock

  • jaja sorry but JUDO is the best for this shit. ^.-

  • Hell yeah. I am going to tear these guys up next week.
