  • yea takeoff length is high

  • Yeah PC-12NG is a little better. I would not mind a Lance Air with the PT6-145A 300kts max curise and FL240 in 8 mins.

  • Love the airplane HATE the noise it makes..

  • Has anyone called it a catfish in the comments yet?

  • @Transam941 looks like a walrus

  • great design, would love to fly it, any of them ;)

  • Love the Avanti. Single pilot, fast, cheap-ish to run. I wish I could afford one.

  • The price is out of range for a twin turboprop, for that amount you can get a very nice low time Lear40XR if your want speed and range or if your really need a turboprop you can get a brand new KingAir350i that can carry much more and land almost anywhere (grass, gravel, dirt) I don't think the Piaggios can land on unimproved airstrips which is a need for various turboprop operators. Also there is a problem with parts and qualified mechanics for this aircraft here in Brazil which is a great market

  • He says: "Very quiet, because pusher props keep the noise behind the cabin".

Yeah, right inside maybe. But has he ever listened to one flying over???

  • Yes, great, indivudual look, but too expensive and too loud (outside).

Btw, they did not teach the speaker how to pronounce "Piaggio" - italians do not speak the "i" if it comes after a "g".

  • @berndl the speaker is italian. he says Piaggio correctly.

  • @SirThomasII : Oh my dear! Of course I mean the american speaker (Glenn Pew) at 20 sec! He is pronouncing it bad - compare him to the italian guy from Piaggio, who, of course, does it right.

  • @berndl my bad

  • Quiet?? Not outside! You can hear them Piaggios from miles away...

  • @berndl My Dad agrees with you. Haha.

  • i watched this plane land at the livermore airport! cool looking plane but yes it is quite loud!!

  • This aircraft is black listed from most EU airports because of noise.

THe pusher prop configuration cuts through the exhaust gases resulting in a square noise pulse which is unacceptable to people on the ground.

  • @asa9enaka Its definitely loud. I live under the approach to a corporate airport (about 9 miles away as the plane flys) and its more annoying than the jets, pistons, or other turbo props.

  • I saw this plane land after i got out of my 152 for a lesson. My eyes almost exploded when i saw this come in for landing it was the best thing i've ever seen!!

  • If you can afford that much for a twin turbo-prop, then fuel savings vs. time saving (of the equivalently priced jet) is a moot point.

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VID!!!!!!!!!

    its one my favorite aircrafts!

  • Coolest-looking airplane in its class.

  • I personally love the looks of this airplane. That said, I see/hear one taking off/landing at KSJC on a semi regular basis, and it's a noisy airplane . It has a very distinctive sound, but it seems louder than conventional turbine twins, on landing as well as takeoff.

Me personally, I'd probably buy a Cessna Mustang *and* a Pilatus PC-12 for that kind of money (and I think I'd have some $ left over!).

  • @blave549 The extraordinarily loud "square wave" sound of the P180 is caused by the the prop design.

Speaking as an experienced psychologist, I can you tell that the noise emitted by the plane offers the (usually) wealthy occupants who fly aboard it to gain the attention they seek as a means of flaunting their wealth. The square wave sound allows the occupants and flight crew to symbolically "fart" down the runway and in the sky.

I'm not really a psychologist. I just made that up.

  • No SVT or Garmin 1000 for 7.1 mil? Wow - in the next year or so, I'm planning a purchase/lease of a TBM850, Mustang, or ? Whatever it is, it will have SVT.

  • I never thought about the exhaust heating the prop and eliminating the need for a deicing prop. Its expensive for sure, but it is the ferrari of the sky. And you will get some of that back in fuel savings over a comparable king air and the p180 is larger and quieter.

  • wow...for 7.1 you can get a jet...damn Italian crooks :)

  • make it cheaper so I can buy one too please.

  • i love the aircraft and company.!

would love to be their.... test pilot.!! for their products.!

    hot.!

  • It would be a beautiful aircraft if it hadn't that ugly mustache.

    :D

  • I like the cargo compartment right by the prop. You are going to smack one blade or another loading or unloading. It is a true feat of engineering, I wonder who much was based on Rutan research? Overpriced? Right now one of a few built, luxury aircraft, seating up to nine, I don't know... Maybe they need to get all their testing money back.

  • Jesus 7.1 million how fucking overpriced

  • What an ugly ass plane.

  • Did e say 7.1 mil?

  • Anyone else think the main gear looks kinda flimsy for a aircraft of its weight?

  • They're pretty cool planes, I get to refuel them on occasion when they come through my airport.

  • I like the front wings... they are neat... And very required, to counter-balance the wings and tail.

  • I'm not rich yet but when I am, I'm going to be looking at this plane

  • IMO that's one of the most beautiful turboprops ever made
