  • 7725 my favorite ES44DC

  • You got the 7777 in there, and consecutively numbered 1st and 3rd engines

  • nice video, shame there is so much grafitti on the cars:(

  • sounds like someone got a scanner. I cant remember the last time i was at the santa fe depot but i'm long over due. good stuff

  • haha well no. That wasn't mine. That was the radio from the guys working there. Still need to get a scanner.

  • wow. great sound on the ES44DC's notching up!

  • I agree with all above, excellent video and activity

  • That's a good catch. I'm glad you were able to see it.

  • Nice catch

  • Very nice. Welcome to San Diego ;)

  • Santa Fe Depot is inside of yard limits, thus throwing switches is a normal function of operations in the terminal and SOP for the freight crews, who generally have to line that first switch because Coaster goes from the yard into track 1. No impending crash here, but a cool addition to the video :-D

  • They have a game plan ahead of schedule. Not this shoemaker !! if the engineer wasn't pay any attention you would have a derailment.

  • O I didn't know that was part of the yard. Thanks for the info.

  • For#1, There actually is a line to Mexico, and some cars go thru on the Sandiego and Imperial Valley RR.

For 2: The amfleets only run in summer because of the Del Mar 9 car set of bilevels.

  • There's two things I've aways wondered about the trains in San Diego. 1. Dose San Diego get low train traffic because it's so close to the Mexican Border. 2. Why dose the Pacific Surfliner use Bi-Level cars sometimes and Doubledeck cars other times?

  • Actually, most of the train traffic that comes through is because of Mexico... Either going to or coming from. Reason for low freight traffic is because we have a beautiful port and cargo ships can haul more then a freight train, thus most of our Goods come by ship.

  • cool video!

  • Cool video but can't believe it that you are filming a BNSF train! lol

  • Did you get any coaster?

  • Ya. I got it coming in then leaving as well as a Pacific Surfliner. I hella messed the surfiner one up though.

  • well that was a close call! BTW are you still in SD or did you leave already?

  • Great video 5*****

  • did i hear a scanner in the background?

  • Ya that was from the guys who ran down to the switch.
