Polyphony has the best and most pronounced "soprano clash" (1:21-1:23) of any performance of this piece I have ever heard. I wish every choir would follow their lead! It's written for a reason, and it sounds fantastic when executed well.
I can not imagine trying to sing this from beginning to end without falling apart, its just to powerful. This is the first and only piece, I might actually pass on performing. I could do it technically, both bass and baritone, I just could'nt bring myself to do it. I would never make it past 4:40 without crashing. Thanks for uploading it, i needed a good cry. Alongside the statue of David ... the definition of a masterpiece
One of the most spectacular pieces I've ever had the privilege to sing. Emotionally exhausting, and worth every moment--it's hard to avoid the desire to collapse in a weeping heap on the floor. If you ever have the chance to perform it--don't let it pass you by...
when the top two soprano voices are added in at 1:20-1:22ish. Just utter brilliance, if only I could hear that live performed at that caliber, the pure force of emotion there would just be phenominal
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

Soprano at 1:41 :)

The first soprano had one terribly loud, sharp note.
I used to prefer the BYU version but I'm coming to like this version.
My preferred version is still in limbo.

It is just so emotionally engaging. Whitacre is the definition of great composition.

Seriously? Only Eric Whitacre could create something that dissonant and clashy and make it sound...just ever so beautiful.

The "Absolom" at 4:43 gives me a chill each time I hear it. It's pretty much fork-in-the-eyeball kind of beautiful.
