@llew777 The vehicle was equipped with a Toys By Troy gage and grill guard. Once the Jeep was turned upright, the cylinders were blown clean and it was driven off the trail.
I have a wilderness as cabin,as a result I know the importance of being organized and over prepared.(eg I do a lot of wood working projects, due to remote location of cabin when iI need 30 bolts I always buy 40) but subject at hand I watch many 4x4 winching vids and cannot believe the amount of people standing in the KILL zone of a taunt winch line. thanks again
@llew777 Sometimes I will also open the hood of my vehicle to act as a shield, but there are always risks invovled with off-roadway driving. If you look through my "Jeep" playlist, you can see a dramatic video titled "Tracy's Rollover." Although the driver was not injured, things could have easily been worse.
Thanks for the response, Forgive me I should have known, once again I am impressed with your organization, and being prepared people could take a lesson from you, Keep in touch
nice to see someone so prepared, maybe you could add a damper for safety you put the damper on a taunt winch line if the line snaps the potential for head removal is reduced by the line dropping to the ground instead of free fly, I am impressed how prepared you are thanks for the Vis.
@llew777 I have a dampener on my TJ's winch line. Prior to that, I used my wool blanket to weigh down the line. I still use a blanket on my other vehicle winch that doesn't have a dampener.
I have never heard of any state having a law against it, but the Bureau of Land Management in some instances require vehicles to carry an axe and shovel when traveling in the back country . Now, some states may have restrictions how items may be carried on the exterior of a vehicle. For instance in Florida, no items may protrude from the driver's side of the vehicle.
Those items you mentioned are either in my tool bag or my spare parts container. I will do another vidoe that shows those kits. Everything shown in this video is stored on the vehicle (like the hi-lift is bolted to the front bumper) or is secured in the space behind the rear seat of my Wrangler.
It has taken me more than a decade to aquire most of these items. However, with just a little knowledge, most people can get themselves out of trouble with just a few of these things. If I had to go out with bare minimum, the hi-lift. shovel, wool blanket, 2 tow straps, and 2 d-rings would be all that I would need as long as my vehicle had good tow points and a spare tire. As a matter of fact, something like that might make an interesting video. Thanks for the inspiration.
and i thought i had some gear. You seriously just put me to shame. Im going to go crawl back in my hole. Great Job william. Nice gear...looks like you have everything you need. Be safe out there.
Thank you for the reply, I watched the roll over, by the looks of the accident the roll cage saved her ?

add some bailing wire, duct tape, and some plumber's epoxy putty, and your kit would look like mine. :-)
Question - what are you carrying it all in?
