I remember the first time I heard a bomb the bass track, it was the Commodore Amiga CDTV version of Megablast. Since then I and many others have been hooked on Tim Simenon's music. He is one of the few true geniuses of sound.
I met Tim back in 1986 during our student years at Polytechnic of Central London (now Westminster University). H.N.D. in Mechanical Engineering 1986-1988.
I remember when Tim brought us a tape with a track called "Bit Dis" so we would give him an opinion. I believe I was among the very first to lister to what would later became a tremendous chart hit worldwide!
tim fuck off, you been so miles away from the rest , and your sound was the best ,that the music of today still needs you, you let down a great equation , bomb the bass not the band !!
"Enter the Dragon" is the best album of all time!!!! i´ve listened to Beat Dis a million zillion times since I was 13 and I still loved it (i am 32 :-P) ... dont make me wait, beat dat etc etc etc .. great stuff
@erickrodrigues2002 Well it's a matter of taste and while Beat Dis (even more "Dat") are great tracks, as an album Unknown Territory is Da Real Bomb!
It's in a different league compared to "Dragon" (and lots of other music from that era), so well-balanced, phat sounding, diverse and perfect. Unknown Territory sounds still fresh to me almost 20 years since its release.
Welcome back Bomb the Bass! Tim hasn't changed over the years - he could chuck on a Fila tee shirt and wooly hat and he'd look like he just stepped out of the "Beat Dis" era! :)
I appreciate the move to more traditional song-based music... but glad that Simenon and crew pay homage to the "Into the Dragon" roots in their live shows with the futuristic interpretations of Beat Dis and Megablast.
Brilliant album! like all of bomb the bass.
Tim Simenon is a real artist and so natural as we can see in this interview!
Thanks for that beautifull opened music!
