@beadtree We just had a small point and shoot cannon. Nothing fancy. We just walked out in to the water and were very careful not to get wet. Honestly, I think you should definitely go to San Blas if you are going to be in Panama. We spent a year traveling through Mexico and Central America and it is one of the top 3 places we visited in the entire year. Definitely make it happen. I don't think you will be disappointed.

First of all, Thank you very much for sharing this experience, What a beautiful place. How do you get to San Blas from Panama City and how much are we talking about. Do they have motels or guest houses in these islands to spend a night?

I was there with my wife back in 1998. Some of the best beaches in the world, natural, no fancy stuff..... and we've been in Maldives, Caribbean, South Asia... great video !

Thank you for a beautiful video. We the family are going to panama for 3 months in winter. I saw on the video that you have also small kids as we do. It would be so great if you could be so kind an share some info with me. first how was it to travel with kids there, where did you go to. How did you get to San Blas and were did you stay there. We have been looking on the internet but I cant find any fly/boat trips to there and no info on prices.

hey, did Maná actually write the song referring to San Blas in Panamá? I know there's a place called "San Blas" in their home country of Mexico as well...

I'm pretty sure they didn't write it about the place in Panama. I think they did write it about the one on Mexico (I think it's on the Pacific coast.) The music just fit because of the name, and we liked the song, so we used it.

What is the name of the island where you took this pictures?

The good pictures are from Isla de Perros or Pelicano. Pelicano was the really small one and Perros was the larger one with the good snorkeling. Both are very close to each other (if you are on Perros you can see Pelicano off in the distance).

Thanks for your comment. My Spanish is very bad, so I'll write in English. We stayed in a hotel in El Poveneir. That is also where our plane landed. The hotel was ok and the food was ok too. But really the highlight of were the day trips we took to these other islands. We booked the trip in a travel agency in Panama City. I think it is easy to just go to any travel agency - they can do it for you. Good luck! -Allison
