All this Ford-Chevy arguing is stupid. Here's the deal: There are companies cater to Ford motors, but the cost is ridiculous. The aftermarket for a GM motor is affordable and plentiful, unlike the aftermarket for Ford. Hell, I'm planning on building up my inline 300 L6 in my '66 F100, but it won;t be cheap and won't have near the HP or Torque of Hale's '65 with the turbo LS6. Most I can squeeze is 400 HP and about 475 Ft Lbs of torque, and it's going to run a couple of grand just in parts.

People put chevy motors in everything else because they are brainwashed to thinking thats all that will run and i was she same way until i got tired of getting outran by my friends fords so i have since had the fe 427 and clevelands and all i can say is i was missing out on performance with the chevy 350 and 454 they are a waste of money but live and learn as i have done.

@ford351cmustang Ford has always built a better engine than Mopar or GM. Ford was the first company to use a v8 engine in basic American passenger vehicles. They were also the only company to build an engine that is still banned by NASCAR, the 427 cammer engine. GM used to build good engines during the 327-348era. The 350 is the worse compromise between the old and new. The last worthy Mopar line to talk about was the 354-392 Hemi line or the Poly engine line.

I use to run chevy motors until my friend bought a car with a 351 Cleveland and was always kicking my ass with it so i tried one and there is no doubt the cleveland has way more power and i also saw bob glidden beating everyone with his cleveland even jenkins BBC vega was sent home packing so i will never waste my money on another chevy motor again. In fact im thinking about putting a cleveland in my S10 so i will have a good running chevy.

@gasjockey101 I've found that fords will always break but never break down. chevys might go for 100,000 miles, but then you might as well throw it on the scrap heap. but that's my personal experience. all I meant was that if you take a perfectly good motor out of a chevy and put it in a ford, why not just build the chevy? or for that matter, why not just build the ford?

Buy a Chevy, build a Chevy. don't take a good-looking classic Ford and drop a Chevy motor in it. I'd have just as much of a problem with someone putting a Ford motor in a Chevy. BUILD WHAT YOU HAVE.
