  • Try Festools Domino, a portable morticer..only downside is price....

  • A POCKET SCREW SYSTEM IS QUICKER

  • triforce saw

  • Good video. Biscuits are helpful in a variety of circumstances but for face frames pocket screws are faster, provide their own clamping source and are when combined with glue-stronger.

  • whats up with large comments

  • I used biscuits and 3/8" bolts for my Coronet Combination-Lathe bench. The machine weighs in at about 400lbs with all attachments fitted.

It's on castors, and has been going steady without racking for about 12 years now. I'm going to update it soon, mainly because I need a smaller version in my shop, since I made my new workbench!

(No I didn't use biscuits for that job. That is a different kettle of sardines! Thanks for this.

  • would you suggest using a bisquit joint in a butcher block countertop L shaped in a corner situation

  • GREAT points. This vid differs from the typical WWGOA vid in that it doesn't provide instruction per se. It is really more of a "trailer" for a large (and free) two-part skills article on biscuit joinery on the WWOA site (part 2 coming soon). And it is a fair criticism on having only one biscuit joiner in the vid, but it is my only one. I upgraded recently and sold my old one, but your point is well taken and I'll definitely keep it in mind in the future. Thanks!

  • Biscuits don't create the strongest of joints, but the point is that it is strong enough for many of the joints that woodworkers make. While not as strong as a Domino joints, it is much cheaper (but I like the Domino too!). The theme here is that it still has a place and we shouldn't be afraid to use it where it fits. The only motivation in creating this was to educate and promote membership in our guild, and to encourage folks to use their joiners rather than selling them on Craigslist. :)

  • I know some knock the biscuit, but I see nothing wrong using it for quick simple projects... Thanx for the video.
