Saw this show last week. It was the best of the four shows I saw. It made my first time in NY amazing. My mom and I wanted to get up and dance so much. We bought the album and can't stop listening to it. We wanted to go and see the show again and again. It's that amazing!!
I think Marla sings the first belt note better than the girl in the UK....however the girl from the UK sings the second the half of the solo when she sings raise it up and belts the shit out of it! I wish marla would do that instead of going into head voice she should just belt!
saw it last night.. this clip does no justice to the actual performance.... MARLA was amazing.. she sounds 100000 times better live and hits the high notes easily and flawlessly same goes with Patina!! whole cast was really tight!
Okay so some of these comments are a little much. cast has been in rehearsals for under a month. This is the first live performance they have ever done and it's live tv. Sound mixing isn't always at it will never ever sound the way it does in a theater. You may disagree with casting, but this is bway not schlubs off the street. With time and rehearsal things get smoother and better....

I saw the very 1st PREVIEW on BROADWAY and was BLOWN AWAY... THE CAST IS SO MUCH STRONGER NOW.. I LOVED IT!! THE WHOLE PLACE WAS ON ITS FEET BEFORE THE CURTAIN CALL STARTED..MARY PATRICK, MARY ROBERT.. ALL AMAZING.. I MET THEM ALL AFTERWARDS.. I JUDGED THEM TOO SOON I AM A BASTARD.. IT WAS GREAT!! GO SEE IT!!
Mary Patrick..IS AWFUL..I COULD DO BETTER AND I AM A MAN,...THE CAST DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THEY SHOULD..NOT ENOUGH DIVERSITY...I am really sad..I was so pumped about seeing this on BROADWAY...No offense..THESE PEOPLE SUCK...HOPEFULLY THEY IMPROVE..The UK VERSION is so good...WHY RUIN A GOOD THING? PAY THOSE PEOPLE TO COME HERE AND PERFORM..People in the USA go over there...I am serious,,that lady sounds like a CHILD SCREAMING,.,.
I was really excited for sister act . But watching this cast version, i think i am unexcited. I wish that the cast had more energy and excitement. also Patina seemed a little bored. I like sister Patrick in the UK version. Plus the UK version is better! But I'll give them another chance!!!!
The Mary Laz is way too young.... She's supposed to be one of those clueless/angry old ladies and the Mary Robert's belting was odd lol but it looks great!!! I love Patina and Sara Bolt :D i can't wait to see it!!! :)
This show is amazing...and they were only in rehearsal a short very short couple of weeks before this performance so give this some due as far as the ensemble goes!...once they really get into the show the broadway cast is gonna rock!

I didn't think that Marla's performance was up 2 par with Katie's, although i did like that Marla ad-libbed a little more. Right now i don't think that the performance as a cast was on the same level as the UK cast, vocally or energy wise. Even Patina who is amazing seemed a little off her game.
I "discovered" Patina Miller just after she graduated from CMU - and Marla Mindelle while she was a senior at CCM. So fun to see them about to headline on Broadway!
