I wasn't sure Kiri would have enough bite in her voice for this role, but she is absolutely lovely here -- the creaminess as mentioned in a previous comment is there, as is the wonderful portamento throughout. Feminine, sweet and very convincing. Tebaldi has always been my favorite in this duet (cf. "é fascino d'amore"), but I love Te Kanawa here. Might have to get the CD with Carreras after all, though his performance is supposed to be quite lacklustre.

Stunning performance. This may not be Te Kanawa's most comfortable repertoire but the chemistry between her and Domingo is incredible!!! The only weakness may be the lower register of Te Kanawa's voice which is not so strong but nonetheless a stellar performance- the creaminess comes thru with abundance.

Grazie di avermi inviato questo brano, Walter. Ho visto molti filmati con Domingo, forse la Manon Lescaut è il migliore. La Te Kanawa, voce lirica di una bellezza ideale per Manon, non potente, ma di colore piacevole.
