@Trimbler00 That isn't true at all. A lot of movies don't portray college for what it really is. College life is "A-or-Fail", when the real world is not that intense. After I finished my bachelors degree, I worked for four years, only to go back to college to get my masters degree because working a nine-to-five job made me feel lazy. There is not as much anxiety in the real world, you do not constantly work, and you can have a life. College gives you purpose and a direction, but it is not easy.

When I was a freshmen in college, I went to see this play on Broadway with my Theater class. I loved it, especially this song. My classmates and I shot each other looks when they said the lines about the "dry erase" boards and "sitting in the computer lab 4am before the final paper is due....seeing the rest of the class there too." Because that's the way college used to be. A year later Facebook was created and forever changed the social experience of college..for the better? that's debatable.

I love this whole song, partly because I'm in college, but the last verse is especially poignant. Even though the characters fantasize about returning to happier times, on that last verse it really hits them that while they can relive those times in their minds, they can never relive them in reality without looking ridiculous. It's a metaphor for dealing with the future and not wasting your whole life trying to chase something you can't have. This play really knows how to connect with adults.
