@everythinginbetweenX don't confuse "moulding the meaning" with adding your personal style to the song. No two performances of one song are ever the same (especially by two different bands). Hence why cover's are still relevant - Look @ placebo's excellent cover of "where is my mind".

Whilst moulding works in some cases, i believe in some songs (usually but not limited to, personal ones) it doesn't work. Example, the above song and also this: /watch?v=0CmxH8Z9XuA
