Was the blow like a loose edge of hand or hammerfist? I have seen a few of his vids and was not impressed, but I have encountered concepts like this in wing chun, tien chen pai, and some filipino, indonesian, and burmese styles. His vid on punches i don't like. But this could be used with weapons, or empty handed, I like this more than what I've seen so far. I just don't like the relaxation idea. But you can totally apply this principle to a more gross or convulsive combo and it will still work
yeah- this is good, all other MA like tkd nd karate use force to block/intercept force. but this soft way gives u that much more time&energy to attack the other guy
