I have Pcos and I weigh About 290. How hard was it for you to loose the Weight With the surgery and the Hormone Imbalance? I am Scared That I will do this Surgery and Wont Loose any weight With The Pcos.
so how did all this work out for you? our weight was about the same in the beginning of your journey, i was 295, but im 39 yrs old, i am 6 months out rny gastric bypass and i lost 60 lbs so far, i have a period every month now for 6 months:)
Thank you so much for posting this. Here I thought I was the only one throwing a party every time I got a period, lol! Provera works like a charm for forcing Aunt Flo to visit - though maybe you're body is still adjusting to the effects of your weight loss and it will all even out in time? *Hopefully?* :)
you can have an ultrasound done to see if part of the reason of the lack of periods is due to a blockage- that is another symptom of pcos. and yep- pcos sucks.
i'm sorry your pcos is here to stay. thanks for sharing that information...i had no idea about the skin. i had that too but it has since gone away for me as well. :D
Katie, I too have PCOS and had hoped that as soon as I had surgery my periods would return and all would be cured. I was wrong as well! Having a baby was in my top reasons for having the surgery and I worry alot that my PCOS is so severe that I will not able to get pregnant. Thanks for posting about this topic. It is always good to hear how others are dealing with the same issues.
Great update. I hope when the time comes that you decided to jump in try getting pregnant... that you have great success. I hope your 2010 brings you many happy surprises and only the best! Merry Christmas!
I think it's something that's often undiagnosed because it's more a cluster of symptoms than something that has a blood test or some other way to definitively test for it. Sigh.
Hey thanks for the PCOS update, I have it as well...For me my symptoms have been face hair, thinning hair, dark skin, acne...infertility. You name it. But, since my surgery almost three months ago, my acne and dark skin has gotten WAY better, and I have had three periods since then. Haha. Have you ever tried Progestrone Cream from a health food store for 15 days out of your cycle?
thank you for making this video! It's good to know... I know everyone is different, and I have that skin issue sometimes - with my neck, so it's hopeful that it might change for the better. :-)
Also, I know this sounds weird - but I kind of wish I had more friends with PCOS - not that I'd wish it on anyone - but there isn't anyone in my circle of friends who has it, so I feel a little alone in it sometimes.

I have only learned about PCOS from watching you tube. I had never heard of it before this year. Is it very common?
