everyone loves a ko so you gotta love jackson.imo though he wasnt that good a fighter. norris was beating him as was herol bomber the body snatcher smased him and the g man finished him.
First of all. Terry Norris not only looked beautifull in there up to the stoppage with his hand speed and movement, he also took two flush shots of Julian Jackson and still beat the count!
Now how many could of took flush shots of Julian Jackson and got to their feet before ten?
Hang on! Terry Norris, despite having a weak chin, by Hall of Fame standards, was a tremendously skilled fighter. He beat a lot of man who will go down as great. Also, like GREATS do, he came back from this brutal KO to win back a title and become a P4Per bless. Lets tell it straight here on our YOUTUBE man! Normal man out here would be KILLED by those punches. Dont diss blessers... Peace
No...No...No...you got me all wrong. Terry grew up around me, and when he wasn't at the stables, he trained at my gym. I love the guy. I am just saying he could have possibly pulled this one out. About killing people, touchy subject, Larry Dixon and Paul Vaden two of which I grew up with went through some of that trouble. Thank god Terry never had to deal with something like that.
I met Terry Norris in Downtown San Diego coming out of his boxing gym in '92 and he gave me his autograph and a handshake,he is a cool cat. He was driving a slick red sports car I dont know the make/model do you know?
He was driving the Acura NSX, I can't remember what year, I think 89. Yes, he has always been a real nice guy. 92 must have been the gym on 12th right? I was going to the Red door gym at that time.
That's it, the Acura NSX,thanks for the info. I don't recall the name of the gym,I do remember it being close to the trolley train and 2 or 3 blocks from San Diego public library. Terry Norris would stop by Tijuana boxing gym and hang out with the Marquez brothers. I sure miss Diego and now I live in Washington D.C freezing my ass off.
terry blew it in this one, he should have unloaded in round one, I know easy to say as he did throw a lot of punches, but I think he could have dropped Jackson if he followed up when Jackson got hurt. But, I think Terry always feared this guy.
Herol Graham was a beautiful boxer and an absolute gentleman outside of the ring. You should show him more respect. He would have drawn with McCallum other than a point deduction and was toying with Jackson until switching off momentarily ( due to recent dental work bothering him incidentally, a bridge that he had just had fitted)!
Herol Graham who deserved it - theres a vid on youtube of Herol sparring a 16 yr old kid a fews years back - the kid lands a lucky shot so Herol being the hero he is nearly breaks the boy in half with a body shot - what a twat , the kid was heartbroken cos herol was his hero - imagine your boyhood hero punching the shit out of you ? herol got his - jackson almost killed him with that right hand so graham was finished as a top class fighter
couldn't agree more - that KO of Herol 'Bomber'(hahahaha) Graham by Jackson is just brilliant. I really thought Graham had been killed - thankfully he wasn't.....
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, I love it. Terry Norris deserved this so badly. He is the dirtiest big-time fighter ever. He has been disqualified 3 times for hitting his opponent either after the bell or after his opponent was knocked down. He actually should have been disqualified in his fight with Sugar Ray but I'm glad he wasn't cuz Leonard is almost as big a prick as Norris and he deserved the beating.
ive never seen jackson doing well in a fight. he always seems to be getting the shit kicked out of him and then he lands some huge right hand out of nowhere and ko's the guy.
Gotta love a fight sponsored by Schlitz Malt Liquor. Instead of Dan Dierdorf and Alex Wallau, why didn't Ice Cube and DJ Quik call this fight? LMAO...I hated Terry Norris, so this was a sweet fight for me. So was the first fight with Simon Brown
You are so right! Also included in the mix should be Toney,Reggie Johnson,Steve Collins who is the most underated and probably the toughest of the bunch! This guy sparred with Hagler who is known to send sparring partners home after a few sessions! Also an up and coming ,but not so young Bernard Hopkins! We were deprived of a lot of history making fights 1988-1995!!
He is my top two, I think Duran at 135 would be #1 barely, Give credit to Joe Cortez for stopping the fight. He almost let him out to get killed. Fantastic fight.
Julian Jackson hit so hard he even had the great Mike McCallum stunned, albeit briefly. One of the hardest hitting champs ever. Norris was doing well - until he got hit...
Terry Norris seemed to have it all...except for a chin

@muskie. You must be joking? Cortez saved Norris from Julian breaking his face.

Terry was a hell of a fighter, there is no shame in getting caught by arguably the greatest puncher in boxing history.

terrible terry norris: the best face plant ever recorded on television.
ref joe cortez: will stop a fight if the fighter sneezes.

Julian Jackson was the most concussive puncher in the history of boxing.

Norris was the ultimate underachiever. Made his career by beating up used up A fighters, and slower than molasses B fighters.
Here, the only fight where he fought a young champion in his prime, and he gets KTFO in spectacular fashion.

RocinanteSWS: You're bang on!! Norris was one of the most over-rated champions of all time. Love this knock out ha,ha!!!
bobsthewizard09 2 years ago
That was amazing.
Norris got hit that first time against the ropes and he literally froze... then the next two chopped him down.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

What are the good boxing gyms in Tijuana? I have been thinking of teaching some things in Tijuana, but don't have any good contacts anymore.

I recomend you check out "El crea".Thats about 5 minutes from the border and it has many athletic fields and a boxing gym. Wish you the best amigo.
