I am studying 18th century France because it is where it all started for us! The Seven Years war, not the so-called France and Indian war. Because England supported Fredrick of Prussia, it needed the taxes from the colonies to help pay for the war.
I agree with this video. Legally the Constitution is obviously the most important document, but it in no way gets near the importance of the ideas presented in the Declaration of Independence.
i also feel that there is a line between needed force and unessesary force. back then, the colonists didnt have (not very many anyways) rights, so we petitioned them, our petitions were ignored. i feel the same thing is going on and may 1 day end up taking a drastic and violent turn.......maybe for the worst. everything led 2 the Civil War, and it MAY more than likely happen again. im not saying it will happen, but i think asking "what if" alot is better than not asking at all.
very true. i do C that we indeed may repeat history. i feel that we R as of now repeating it. i actually pay attention in integrated S.S. (well, i pay attention, but half the time im so tired i end up dozing off sometimes. lol). but i rlly do pay attention. i feel that the american govt. is slowly separating citizens from what is right, and what they want us 2 think is right. its like the saying "wolf in sheep's clothing" or "pulling the wool over our eyes" so 2 speak.
Not only that. Most of them don't even know what's going on. American's silence, apathy and indifference is costing them their freedom at the hands of domestic enemies in high places. "Power concedes nothing without demand. If people demand nothing, that is precisely what they will get." --Fredrick Douglass
