Rocky had THE most amazing voice, he and Gail. But Rocky is the one I will never forget..his voice..incredible!! Sure would love to go back in time to see them play again :)

WOW, I remember hearing this on CKWW in Windsor and it instantly became my favourite and a bit of a theme song for me as a lonely teen in angst ~sigh~. I still can sing it from memory although I haven't actually heard it in nearly 30 years. For some reason I thought it was a golden oldie from the 60's... probably because of the format and the radio station I was listening to did mostly that at the time. Thanks for sharing it. You brought me back to my youth.

OMG what a blast from the past!! I grew up in Kitchener, and how could you not know of Hooples?!!? I worked with Grant Heywood for 2 or 3 years too,,,, anyone know what came of him. Nice guy, quiet, mild mannered. Hard to believe he was in such a band.

I was a kid of the 70's! I also grew up in Kitchener. Had the pleasure of seeing Major Hoople's several times in the past. I loved them!! Still do!....

No matter how much time passes and how times change....there was nothing quite like Major Hoople's, Rain, Yukon, and Copper Penny!!

I have a great time freaking out my friends and co-workers when these songs play on the radio. They always ask me who does this song and 'Running After You". When I tell them it Major Hooples Boarding House', they always ask, How can you possibly know or remember that? I have never forgotten this band. What a great sound. I would love to see these guys play some where. I live in Georgetown. I know they are out there somewhere.

hi doom 705...could you please ask ur dad if he did a song with "What took so long for you to find me..." It is my all time fave song and if he (ur dad) did sing it he sure could/should have!! His voice still gives me goosebumps! Thankyou - and be proud...your dad's legacy in Canadian music is certainly appreciated more by the fans than by the industry <3

Wow. Thanx for this post. Beautiful memories. Rocky had such an amazing voice. Still does! Heard him last week in Brantford. Hasn't changed a bit haha!! He's playing periodically with Jamie Todd from Hourglass....remember them =)
