'Rock and Roll is about instant gratification...' I totally get that from the music of The Cramps as I do from all of the Rock and Roll greats! May The Cramps live on in our minds for as long as we all shall live... until the flying saucers finally land and steal all of our rock and roll memories...
Only found out recently of Lux`s death, So sad! Thank you so much for my misspent youth, and the many gigs I was fortunate to experience. you showed me the true meaning of music and inspired me to pick up a guitar and make some noise.
RIP LUX, wherever you are, say hi to the ramones for me, and keep the party going till I get there.
Yeah, well I was mostly good until the Cramps taught me to show my true sick self, which I noticed in retrospect had been vying for expression for years...
message to lux..you were too fucking much, the people dont know, that yr audience..of true origin.....are yet to be born..bbbbbbbbbborn bad baaaaaaaaaaaaaaby. RIP+THANK YOU FOR YR LEGS.
I wish I had that whole early CityTV New Music set from 1979. Rebroadcast please!! Come ON! TRibute please! Note the original VJ there working for US news TV now. Anyway, too much corporate control. Did you noitce on the last Grammy awards on the past away artistes they did not mention Lux? Music Industry does not stand for anything these days except selling shoes and sportswear and computer games. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR YOU YOUNG PEOPLE! REALLY ! I DO!
Yeah. I miss seeing them again since I only saw them once and I will be honest, it was the best show I ever did see! Honest! 10/10 highest rating. If they did come to Toronto again I would have came and brought out everybody I know, because it could have changed them in some way
I like his comment on rock benefits "having a knife fight to benefit humanity" The Cramps were GRATE for staying clear of any compromises. It comes from being outsiders

Catatonic music? They're the one thing in this world that makes me wanna move besides diarrhea.
exeuroweenie 1 year ago
I have two theories about this (going by memory since my earphones aren't in reach)
1) He's referring to non-Cramps music
2) He actually meant to say 'cathartic'. Anybody can make a mistake.
MmeLEnfer 1 year ago
Hah,I'll bet you're right, since I kinda doubt he meant to say Catholic.
exeuroweenie 1 year ago
He didn't say catholic, but I don't think you meant that he did, right?
MmeLEnfer 1 year ago
Haha no,though lapsed Catholics seemed to take to them as much as preppies and bubbas, even.

There was maybe 25 people there.
Fabulous.

It's tearing me up that he's gone, but the best thing that we can do for his memory is to just get Cramped.
