  • whats that for a watch

    name?

    really nice

  • Polska rulez !

  • his eyes look like he's done too much acid!

  • NANOPAD BREAKS VERY EASILY, LPD8 DOESN'T. If you don't know which to buy, don't watch the video, watch this comment.

  • @SpinDJJD I'd like you to watch my video, but you are correct :)

  • @SpinDJJD I bought nanopad and it sucks!!! You're 200% correct!

  • @meltdownband Did you have any problems with the korg nanopad? i hear the pads break even if your're not tapping hard

  • Hi, can you tell me what is the pad size in AKAI and Korg in centimeters? I mean a single pad. Thanks! Good review

  • Anyone can read the info on the box and read about the differences.

I was looking for a side by side comparison of how they function live in use. Like showing what one can do that the other can't, which feels better when working, etc.

  • okay, i was deciding weather to get the Akai LPD8 or Nanopad, it will be my first controller and most of the Nanopad videos i have saw seem that you can have alot more sounds in than the Akai LPD8 as you can change the 'channels' does it have the capability to have more than 8 sounds loaded in

  • what kind of watch is that!!?

  • Can anybody explain me what are drum pads for???

  • Nice review. Nanopad2 all the way; the x-y pad is pretty sick.

  • Good review, and you seem like a cool guy.

  • can u use the akai midi controller with garage band?

  • YOU SEEM LIKE A VERY SMART KID. LET ME ASK YOU THIS. WILL THESE PADS WORK TOGETHER WITH A NUMARK STEALTH/OMNI CONTROL?

  • @DJVBasil yes it will i tried

  • Does the akai have note repeat?

  • I am thinking about buying the nanopad2 korg controller would je reccomend it to me ? Thanks..

  • @Junaamhier

the akai is cheaper on amazon than the nanopad2 :O

  • I'd go for the AKAI. I been thru 3 KorgNanoPads and they all break within 2 weeks of getting them. I just bought the AKAI LPD8 yesterday and I used it the same day on a gig I DJed and it's WAAAAAAY better then the KorgNanoPad. A better build for sure, sturdier and stronger

  • Iron Madien, Kick Ass

    bro. I love you

    also great review

getting the akai in a few days!

  • Thank you for a really good review! Big up for the circitboard check! /sweden

  • Nice Watch its been a while since iv seen one of those.

  • Forget the controllers, where did he get his watch...!!??

  • @joshr1912 Yeah I wanna know that too! Thing looks like an omnitrix :O

  • hey im just getting into this and i was wondering what one would be netter for me i just want to do techno beats and have sorta scratching abilitys what would you sujust

  • Wow, amazingly detailed review and comparison. Definitely sold me on the Akai. When you get a little older, you should work for them as a product specialist.

And I love the Iron Maiden poster!

  • screenception !

  • I bought not one, but TWO nanoPads... None of them worked. The pads were not working, except two of them. So I'd say the nanoPad would have been a good product if they did manufacture them properly. Instead they thought it would be ok to ship not-QC-passed products all over to piss off their customers. Not a wise choice, IMHO. I've read a LOT of comments on the internet about defective nanoPads, so I guess I'm not the only one who got fucked :/

  • i would go with akia because they make the mpc and know what their dowing

  • lol i love your kick ass poster in the backround

  • hello, what does lpd stands for?

  • @MrRadioLt Its stands for Laptop Pad Device i think.

  • is your nanopad still working? im guessing not....

  • he looks like joel zimmerman aka deadmau5 :O

  • that a nice watch what it called

  • @monopolyman35 nixon, newton.

  • just buy both

  • Man I Just opened the video, I don't even know what's he gonna talk about, but this little boy if Freaking smart, Judging by the Iron Maiden Poster

  • @MarvinPumpkin smarter enough for a 400th sub? ;P

  • @meltdownband & What is that Mean ? .. My English Sucks Balls

  • @meltdownband & The Rage Against the Machine Shirt !! .. Man How many Boys in your Age know all that ?

  • thanx 4 the review mate. I got the akai last week.. it's awesome !!!

  • what about making dubstep type wobble effects. it seems that tht x-y pad would be easier doing that, or can the settings in the akai be programmed to wobble?

  • @fasterball04

midi map some knobs in ableton and akai works very fine :)

  • Good review! I actually bought the nanopad, but when it turned up only one of the 10 pads worked. Wiggling the sides of the pads made them trigger a little bit so it was a manufacturing flaw, or shipping damage....sent it back and swapped it for the akai which is turning up today. The only thing I'm disappointed about is missing out on the the expression touchpad. I could imagine buying another nanopad just for that..... it felt really nice to use

  • Hi there, I'm thinkin about getting the LPD8. Have you tried playing (softly) with drum sticks? D'you think that would work?

  • I have FL 9 and I use the LPK25 and LPD8.

  • Alright i have a question and i realy hope you will answer it ! : I have the korg nanopad but with the EZdrummer and my FL studio the pads with the sounds doens't react so fast en my pest 1 2 3 4 5 and 6 are not working is that normal ? and are this things better by the akai lpd 8 ? please react !

  • Damn you're 12 and you probably know more about audio and mixing than I ever will...

  • i love and use both of these company's products, but the nanopad has MAJOR quality issues (I.E. the pads break very quickly and easily), nearly everywhere you look the nanopad has terrible review scores because of this, and people tell stories of how the nanopad broke within hours of buying it. I love korg, but something really seems to have gone wrong when they designed these. Also, i have an LPD8 and love it ^_^ , good review

  • well done man ! keep it up

finally i bought the akai for 55 euros because after some reasearch i assume that the pads are better. i played a roland handsonic for a few hours and i really liked the finger playing.... i hope the sensitivity of those akai pads is nearly as good as the feel of the handsonic pad but i guess this is a bit unrealistic keeping the price difference in mind...

  • i have just to decide which one get? soemone can suggest me which one is better?

  • lol you pretty much made an infinity tunnel by putting your image on the computer. Then it shows your image on another computer...and another....and another...and another....

  • what is a good free software to make music that is compatible with the lpd8

  • can u use any of those with an amp or headphones without connecting it to a computer?

  • Can I use 2 LPD8's together for a total of 16 pads? Will my software(Fl Studio) be able to handle both of them at the same time? Thanks.

  • @ForestDweller80 I would think so, you may have to create two tracks with your drum samples in FL and assign each controller to each track

  • Hey I'm planning on getting the LPD8 instead of the nanopad but can you recommend an alternative to the Korg NanoKontrol? does Akai make a model like that?

  • @snubbs741 no they dont, but the nanokontrol is great! It is the only good nano device!

  • @meltdownband are you wearing the Newton?

  • @leisurecentury the short answer is yes. however, why not just by the mpd?? I have used both the Akai lpd8 and the Korg nano and in my opinion there is no comparison. It's like deciding between a Kia or a Toyota.. no brainer right?

  • Thanks helped a lot. Tomorrow I'll walk to my DJ-Store. Greetings from Germany. Keep on.

  • Fuck pads keyboards are the bomb.

  • Thanks mate. Was looking for something like this. I'm going with the AKAI. Thanks for taking the time out to put this together. Got some beats you've made to show??

  • ha i got the korg nanopad for £30 today off amazon and free shipping!

  • Hey! I'm well impressed with your videos, you obviously know your stuff. We are running a video review competition at the moment with the chance to win up to £150 off music gear if your interested! From what I've seen you would definitely be in with a good chance! Search for 'Absolute Music' on facebook to get some more info or send me a message and I will send you a link. Keep up the good work!

  • DO NOT get the korg nanpad!

I have broken 3 nanopads, THE BUILD QUALITY IS POOR!

I now have an Akai LPD8, i have had it 7months, i use it every day and it is still as good as new (the longist a korg nanopad ever lasted me was 3hours).

  • @ceetheproducer Thanks mate, comments like yours made me order the LPD8 today. I guess im on the right choice. Cheers^^

  • what software works with the akai lpd8 ? does reason or fl studio work?

  • @TheRafiJ Yes, almost any popular music software will work with it.

  • It seems everyone prefers the Akai's, simply because of the build quality...

  • @sinetwo yes, this sort of product relies on build quality, its gota take lots of hits!

  • They are both ok, personally I would go for the Akai. I Always thought they put a little more work intro their USB controllers.

  • @AdrienChaos Yea, Akai products feel much better but still Korg's controllers are still fine.

  • @meltdownband Yeah I totally understand, I am running a korg NanoKey at the moment and It isn't my main keyboard but its light and good for travel.

  • i am probably going to get the korg because i am new to this beat making and it comes with the software. great review man. keep them coming.

  • @Pimpinpaul500 Sounds like a good idea! Allthough I did prefer the Akai, the Korg is still a great controller!! Hope you like it!

  • @Pimpinpaul500 your Korg will be broke within a month they break easy as hell

  • @TrillMontana damn. thanks for the heads up man. but what software should i get for the Akai?

  • @TrillMontana There is a defect in the pads. I have a pile of four of them. Korg keeps sending me new ones.
