Nice version of a classic, but something I don't like in most Metal covers of game music is speeding up the songs. If you stood in the original tempo I think this would be really great...
@DarkKnight2k6 Go to my channel page, in the "about me" section there's download links to my trackpacks. Don't remember which one this one is in, might be trackpack 4. It's a .rar-file so you'll need some sort of unzipping program.
Aaaaww bullshit. The first riff goes fucking wrong. You play it accidentally in major for fucks sake and on the melody you are way out of timing. Sucks monkey balls, as some would say.
@Wailey First part of riff is dorian mode, minor but with common notes to major (might sound major to your undeveloped ears?), second part is minor but 1 octave higher. FYI: old video game music rarely stays in the same scale/key throughout. The first melody is a bit off, I give you that. But even if I was to play in major like you say, why wouldn't I be allowed to do that? I have all the freedom in the world to arrange my cover as I please. It's your attitude that sucks monkey balls.
@Wailey Coming from the man with nothing in his profile but shitty metal music and Black Op's videos. Your credibility is astounding and your use of the term "monkey balls" shows your obvious maturity and level of intelligence to be able to make such bold judgments on other peoples videos. Good man, good man.
@StatiXuK499 Sadly, there is none. However, you can just find a good MIDI-file from vgmusic.com and import it into Guitar Pro. From within there you can arrange yourself. Warning: melodies and such won't arrange themselves from a guitar players perspective. At least you get the idea and can switch strings for your liking. Also, the drums are sometimes in a MIDI-format that doesn't really connect with the GP drums, instead they are represented with a piano or guitar ;P Just mute that shit.
@iSometimesWriteMusic Thanks alot man, I never knew this. I will be importing midi's on a regular basis now. Thanks again, and great cover by the way, best NES music ever!
Heyyyy ... could you cover the two-part "Four Noble Devils" from Romancing SaGa 3? I think Kenji Ito's music is widely underrated and deserves more attention. Also, these songs almost *beg* for a metal-ish guitar cover and I couldn't find one on YouTube.
@imperialdragonair Noticed my somewhat rounder and thicker rhythm tone? Well, it's a new amp sim called NRR1 and I am totally in love with it when it comes to rhythm (allthough I actually use the "lead channel" in the amp sim for this.) Gonna try to combine it with the crisper rhythm tone that Lecto produces, could be nice results. Anyways, download NRR1, a must try!
@iSometimesWriteMusic You are talking about the tube preamp NRR1 by Ignite Amps. Right ?
If that the is the one you are talking about, Well yea. That Sim rocks. I use too :) I will PM you later about the setup for this song. You really choose your tone wisely :)
@imperialdragonair Ignite Amps, yes. But I don't really get why it is considered a "pre amp"... it's an amp of it's own, I wouldn't put another amp behind it. Anyways, uhm, actually I think I just went with the 12 o clock default positions on like all the knobs. Probably increased Gain a little bit. Once again, the ConsoleQ EQ helps. Also, always AT LEAST double track rhythm guitar sections, sometimes I do 4 seperate recordings just to make it extra fat. Not in this case though, it's doubled.
@guitarblade1891 Yeah, how did you find that out? Did you find out of my band first or my Youtube? Anyways, cool (: Both demos are free to download on our web page (which isn't up at the moment) and also on Spotify.
@iSometimesWriteMusic I'm actually subscribed to steppo2000 and I found out about you and preach from his channel. melt to sand and colour blind are my favorites
@guitarblade1891 Oh cool (: I'd say my favourites are Path to Solace and Melt to Sand, hehe. Well, stay tuned for more of my and my bands' shit in the future!
@Catguy19 Haha, that's from Arkham Asylum! Actually, the sentence "I set a trap, and you sprang it glooooriouslyyy!" is kind of an inside joke between me and steppo2000, haha =D Could be that the Joker says it in some other Batman related thing.
@iSometimesWriteMusic Yahp, Arkham Asylum. Lovely game. +1 internet cookie for you. Not sure if he uses that line in other games/movies, I only know it from Arkham Asyluuuuuuum.
WTH ! I almost forgot about this theme ! Makes me wanna replay the game right now ! And don'y be harsh with yourself dude, the shredding wasn't that bad.
