Are they still supporting this camera since the designers went belly up? This is an old camera that I wouldn't recommend getting into... I think the mamiya/phase combo might be the best buy for right now... At least you're dealing with a more stable support system? I think Hassy might be the next best bet.
why on earth would they include the ability to EDIT photos on the camera itself? I mean, its medium format, all the photos are going to be high end pro stuff/commercial, being run through the likes of lightroom and photoshop. On camera editing is great for basic point and shoots for your entry level consumer, not something included on a medium format digital.
or either model of the 56mmx36mm sensor, the sensor is rotated internally with a turn of the sensor itself, you don't even need to take the digital back off,
Nice stuff. Btw they could sell one of these and waste the profit on remastering this really-low-quality-vid -.- Sound producing worth way less coins then a single digiback.
What is a digital Back? Why is that box looking this sticking out so much in the back? Why is this camera so expensive? Why should i buy this unit instead of a camera like the Nikon D3 or the new D3x?
If you don't know what a digital back for a medium format camera is you should probably don't own one, at least it's not a camera to start out with, neither is D3/x.
I really love the leaf cameras. The sinar system is also very good, but leaf is internally different when it comes to the back. Finally Schneider lenses and PQ lenses are compatable. I'm excited for the newer version AFi-II and it's pretty big sensor.
do you have to remove the back from the body in order to rotate it?
I believe that for the Leaf twin sister, Sinar Hy6, the back can be rotated without detaching it from the camera thus avoiding dust to enter the sensor.
no wonder photography is so expensive. These cameras are crazy expensive.

what a great design !!

@Leeparksing 56x36mm? That's not even 6x4.5! Wake me when they have real "medium format" sized sensors.
I'm happy shooting with old film gear. It gives so much for so little!

It is quite similar to a Rollei 600x.
Are there any leaf backs compatible with a Rollei 6006?
Thanx.

"Switch from portrait to landscape by only turning the camera back, not the camera"
That's what it says on callumet's web site...so, do you have to detach the back from the camera in order to do portrait or landscape photos???

you have to remove the back from the camera

The Leaf has a 6x6 sensor so there is no need to rotate it, but you can mount it either direction
