I think before him, there was another guy Gordon Yang (I may got his last name wrong) that make similar comments in the 90s and sold a very popular book about China demise. This talk seems to be given in 2007, I am waiting for 2014 to see if he is right. If he is wrong, I would like to see him eating his own words.
What he says is coming true already. For 09 the commies will be lucky to get 7%GDP. In this coming economic storm CCP will be lucky to survive in 1 piece , their stupid naive childlike policy of let " some get rich and flow down to the masses " will die a quick death. They were stupid they swallowed White capital cock and balls together and how they are stuck with bad debt .
i beleive chinease ecnomy never colapse.the resource of china is there highly intelligent and hard working people.they have the ability to make any thing in this world.the average IQ level of chinease is highst in the world.up to 105 something
well, considering that getting a degree in the public university where i teach in Changsha costs students more than in London, i'd be surprised if an 1989 people uprising won't repeat within the next 10 years
This guy must be from China indeed, he knows very well what's going on in his country. You're attacking him just because he said something against your Chinese government, but probably you didn't understand one word of what he said. Chinese have to be brave enough to realize that their government is made of the same people who in 1989 shot on harmless students and now on desperate buddhist monks. Hey guys, you leave within a dictatorship!
US financial market depends almost entirely on the world's confindence in its 'creativities' or 'magical' ability to 'engineer' 'financial products'. All are nothing less than voodoo 'black magic'. When the fog of 'irrational exubrance' receeded, what's left is a world realising its been a sucker BIG TIME!
KiloByte69, you should really learn your history. Do you think FDA just popped up out of nowhere one day? FDA was established because made in America foods had the same problems.
Growth will be slowed, but I am optimistic about Chinese ppl being creative enough to keep their economy flourishing. The difficulty comes in providing the Chinese economy with sufficient clean burning fuel, which might cause her to come in conflict w/ USA. They say foreign investments is needed, but as China develops and buys back her domestic manufacturing base, she will become less and less dependent on foreign capital.
Good point about china becoming less and less dependent on foreign capital. The key to this is inovation in technologies(science, medical, enviromental)--all this support by Education. The Chinese people by heart are Confucius...it is not the dragon that is awakening it is Confucius...he will lead way...
The stereotype of Chinese education is rote memorization of facts, very little independent/creative thinking. Perhaps thats true for rural peoples who aren't exposed to new, cutting edge ideas. But as Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have shown, Chinese ppl are capable of being innovative and efficient.
According to history the tao of power and minds has shifted many time toward east and west-constantly moving and changing--the greek, the roman, the golden age of muslim, and china at its peak during the Ming dynasties, and the lasted American Empire-these are powerful empires of its time-but what goes up must goes down.. I wonder where the US are heading?
I don't wish ill fortune upon the peoples of USA. USA is comprised of many ethnic and racial groups. But throughout the past few decades American society has been shifting more and more towards a society of Consumers rather than Producers. People look towards USA for leadership, but all the USA can offer these days are Big Guns, Weapons of War and perhaps some leading edge technology.
I stopped listening after he said there will be a labour shortage in 2020
