Absolutely fantastic person and I am in love with him though I am a dude. Israel should revert back to the old demarcations for which state is which. I cannot believe the world is allowing Israel to do these horrible actions against humanity. This, of course, won't happen until the US is militarily defeated and Israel is bombed by an Arab/African/Asian coalition, but then we can all hope that sense prevails before this happens

Izzeldin Abuelish is an eloquent and articulate speaker and someone that the whole world can learn something from. He deserves the respect of all of us for his humanitarian values and ability to seek peace and face the daily atrocities of what living in Palestine entails without resorting to hatred.

I don't think that no one knew the Palestinian perspective of the war in Gaza, almost all the journalists reporting from Gaza for the Associated Press, for the BBC, were gazans, or otherwise palestinian, because Israel didn't allow foreign journalists into Gaza.

Israel has no peace of mind in this conflict, it knows that even after a peace deal is made, the majority of Palestinians will still want Jewish blood, like you see in Jordan and Egypt.

I respect him, surely, but it's one of only a couple times I hear this sentiment from a palestinian, it's progress, but doesn't reflect popular opinion. I can find you tons of Israelis who are sympathetic towards Palestinians, however. The fact remains that the government of the Gaza strip is totally devoted to the abolition of Israel, and even the Jewish people as mentioned in Article 7 of their charter. I think that is the major issue.

demonetization of people serves nothing but diversion from the real issues. I think this has gotten to you and that's probably why this man's story has struck you. I'm not saying this to point fingers, but I think there is more good in people of the middle east. you can always find people that want blood shed in times of war and conflict on both sides, true for Israelis and their relatives in other countries. Cynicism is not the way, lets be like that man.

Everytime I get into a discussion about this, someone says something to the effect of "there are extremists on both sides", that's undoubtedly true, but to say they're on parity is dishonest. Israelis who advocate the indescriminate murder of Palestinians are banned from Israeli politics, under an anti-racism act, while Palestinians who advocate the indescrimate murder of Jews are the government!

I'm not cynical, I don't assume bad intentions, but I won't ignore what they say.

Israel responded to UN that a number of generals/commanders were responsible for some of the shelling incidents on UN shelters. None of them was demoted!

also, Avigdor Lieberman, Israel's current foreign minister is he not a racist?

the reality is when two state solution is granted, all this will stop. Most Palestinians were born to find themselves in refugee camps, they only want freedom.

@karawmak I agree with you whole hardheartedly. I am an American living in the Middle East and there are many people like him. However people like the good Dr. are not entertaining enough for the mainstream news so people like him are not shown. A pity because when I go back to the states so many people are misled about people in the middle east.
