  • very nice work!

  • Widowmaker anyone? :P

  • Epic.

  • yep sure can squat man......

  • Nice lifts! My traps kill if I do 240! Have to use the pad on the bar.

  • @timiexperience - You might try lowering the bar on your back some...it hurts me if I have a high bar placement no matter how much weight I use...

  • Damn bro, watched all of your videos. Form on every lift is brilliant.

  • So many comments regarding depth. Majority of guys in my gym are so fuck up by their life style that they can't go any deeper than this. Total lost of flexibility. Than everybody complain how bad it is for their knees to go deeper than parallel when the real truth is... they can even do it! This sumo barelly parallel good mornings are design for that kind of people. When you get back your flexibility than you'll understand how good ass to garss squat is for your knees, tendons and ligaments.

  • @m5p944 this is true actually. my legs are fucked 90% of the time from injections and normal muscle soreness that I can hardly walk without limping. I have one good day out of the week, and thats when its time to work them again. oh well, its worth it :D HUGE LEGS!

  • you can bench press 3,000 lbs & that Lady Gaga music will still make you look gay LMAO

  • Strong!

  • 2 people hate Lady GaGa

  • get flat bottom shoes big guy:)

  • Close, but I think you need maybe an inch more depth gauging from the plane made by your hamstring.

  • @geishpmp That's a damn good way to wear out your knees.

  • @Anarchyffan a proper squat is qualified when the femur is at least parallel to the floor. Learn what a proper squat is. Learn Olympic training exercises.

  • whats your squat max? 600?

  • get some converse:)

  • Amazing!

  • Strong squatting!

  • Great squats!

  • Puttin' in work. Nice job!

  • These are some clean squats. I always see people load up the bar with 4 45's on each side and barely squat it.

  • Awesome! Its great to see people put time in with the legs. thats impressive, i love doing high rep burnouts like that to break it up sometimes. keep it up!

  • LOL!! next time you gotta put some weight on the bar brother, that was way to easy. excellent work!

  • Hey, I just started a forum at thestrengthforum (dot) com, and we're looking for people like you to come contribute. You can start a training log or give/get advice on form, technique, etc. Don't mark this as spam, I am a real person, trying to do a real thing, for no money. Just trying to help a community I respect and the art of strength training. BTW, that's some monstrous fucking squatting.

  • Beast!!

  • holy sh*t, can you say strong lowerrback?

you must do a lot of hypers or something, because your the only person I see that can rep out heavy squats without squeezing a few mornings' in their a few times.

    impressed.

  • awesome work!!! I wish I could squat 425 for a few let alone 13 reps. And to all these people saying you aren't squatting low enough... I think they need glasses

  • Amazing strength. Absolutely amazing. props bro. you inspire me.

  • you made that look easy.. WHAT'S YOUR MAX SQUAT FOR 1 REP??

  • GREAT VIDEO! Keep up the hard work!

  • Great job, great form.

  • You lift like a champ

  • is not the same for everybody ppl, when i feel the strech in my hams i know im deep enough and i don't think im beyond pararel and i never feel anything in my knees trail and error best way to achieve your goals (well i used to be a sk8boarder back in H S so i did plenty of knee movement)

  • can't stand this kind of music at the gym. It kills your mood.

If I start my own gym, it's gonna have its own "hardcore" section with all types of heavy metal subgenres blasting through the speakers, no gay shit with 6 squat racks.

  • @Bones98 - That would be great! And don't let anyone in that's gonna curl in the squat rack :)

  • @Bones98 My gym plays that de-motivational crap too. Supposedly, it's less intimidating for the newbies than something that sucks less. Which makes me wonder about my gym: do they care what their committed clientel think, or just the newbs?

  • @Bones98 Yeah honestly I really hate having the possibility of dying under 300+ lbs while listening to "all the single ladies." They should keep that kind of music in planet fitness where real men aren't even allowed to grunt like the calorie burning furnaces we are. So please when your gym becomes a success make grunting mandatory.

  • @Bones98 It should be a crime to play that kind of music in the gym. I don't understand why most mainstream gyms play that crap.

  • @Bones98 Hardcore but no gay shit? You must be retarded.

  • @Anarchyffan

Username: Anarchyffan LOL. Oh, the irony.

Ever been to some of these "hardcore" gyms? Some will boast about their hardcore attitude yet will play gay shit like dubstep and Lady Gaga. That's what I meant, fucking retard.

  • @Bones98 Every cellphone has a music player, everyone has some sort of MP3 player, and the few who don't have the 9.99 it takes to buy one. How about turning off the fucking music and letting me listen to MINE.

  • God, these chrome-and-mirrors gyms play the gayest music.

  • deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper son, otherwise great job.

  • @GetDownOrLayDown31 what are you talking about? He goes parallel with the floor every rep...any lower and it would kill his knees.

  • @Natesageek

lol breaking parrallel is safer for your knees. do your homework boy

  • @GetDownOrLayDown31 are you retarded? (Serious question not ment to be an insult)

  • @Natesageek

Um, ok kid im gonna take you to school.

Squatting at parallel shifts the weight from your quads to your knees. Squatting BELOW parallel shifts the weight from the quads to the hip flexors. Oh and anything above parallel isnt even considered a squat. Ask dave tate. Like i said, do your homework, retard.

  • @GetDownOrLayDown31 a simple yes to my previous question would've done just fine...im not going to bother with you though. Your hip flexors may be activated on the way up when your below parallel but during that little rest at the bottom of your squat the weight is all on your knees.

  • This morning I hit a pb and used the intensity you showed in this video for motivation. Walking around today has become problematic due to fatigue but my endorphins are raging and i feel great! Thanks again!

  • @airish571 Awesome! Glad it helped!

  • Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the low bar demo.

  • Freaking impressive.

  • You have a nice rump..............Your girl or boy must love it:)

  • I hate these types of squat racks, if you fail you could snap your spine..not good. I prefer the racks with moveable support arms..much safer at least in my experience, but then again, I have never even attempted this much weight. good work.

  • how much you weigh?

  • @paintballerx123 Offseason I carry about 220-225, when I compete I'm 186-192...

  • @Sporto4323

You are strong and lean.. I can see you work you ass off.. Nice form on squats..So you compete in bodybuilding?

  • @mariops2 - Thanks! Yes I compete...I'm actually an IFPA natural pro and did 2 shows this last fall. I won the overall at Dave Liberman's NPC Natural Northern USAs, and won the overall at my first pro show, the IFPA Cape Cod Classic

  • just shows that you don't have to be "big" to lift "big". i bet this guy lifts just as much as guys twice his size...

  • lol gyms nowa days play the fuckin worst music ever!

  • great squatting no belt or wraps...watch those injuries.....

  • Do you do some ass to the ground or you only do 90 degree in your squat regime

  • i dont think i could even squat 300 once with lady gaga playing. lol. good job bro!

  • @fivefingerbp98 LOL...that's what iPods are for!

  • @fivefingerbp98

It wouldn't matter who is playin, you couldn't squat 300!

  • @chadley6916 ikr. lol. ass

  • Hey Tommy,

do you use a support belt at all?

    thanks man.

  • Hey Tommy,

Do you use a weight/support belt at all?

    good going man!

  • Is there a specific reason why you use lower bar placement? in your personal experience what's the difference?

  • @drmendozaenriquez - Lower bar placement allows me to sit deeper into the squat and utilize glute/ham in the power portion of the movement...

  • Nice strong set! On a lighter note, the background music is the reason an ipod is a necessity! haha! Stay strong!

  • great,,,,, youre a pretty strong dude, do you compete or something???

  • @adam4adam4

Yes, I am a professional natural bodybuilder

  • @Sporto4323 define natural?

  • @orignalrudeboi84

Probably on every single legal supplement out, lol. Just nothing like steriods.

  • @WCConvict - I take the entire Scivation/Primaforce line since I am sponsored by them. That's all I take :)

  • Nice...those are some good, solid squats. I hate seeing guys in the gym not breaking parallel with their hamstrings

  • Yeah, you do see a lot of that in most commercial gyms...I just try to lead by example :)

  • its not his squats that amaze me, its the fact that JUst dance was on the radio in the background and he still kept composure.... I would have had to toss a 10lb plate though the mirror then attempted that lift... Good shit..

  • @Jeremylastrep that's what his headphones are for ;)

  • Those are some very strong wheels you got there! I saw the whole natural bb series w/ Layne Norton. Are you prepping for any contests soon or are you off-season as they say? Any chance of you training with Layne again?

    Props btw, 5 stars.

  • Thanks! I am prepping for fall shows this year. I train with Layne every once in a while, but we will be competing against each other in November!

  • that's crazy, 315 feels like a million pounds to me on squats i'd be ecstatic if i could just do 4 plates for 1 rep on squats lol. have u ever tried to test your vertical leap? I've always thought that squats help aide in jumping higher and running faster.

  • Jumping ability has a lot more to do with genetics (elasticity, etc.) than a powerful squat.

  • how come whenever i do these it hurts by neck so much....i always have to use the "pussy pad" is it not resting where it should be or something? by the way i only do it with 135 and it still hurts

  • hey man im starting squats at skool. coach said to not put the bar on ur nect but about 3 in. backward. hope it helps

  • It's not resting where it should. Squeeze your shoulder blades back together and puff you chest out....as you set your hands on the bar and go underneath, your shoulder blades pinching back together create a shelf for you to set the bar on...

  • Comment removed

  • @finalfanta25 You need to let your body adjust to the bar. Start off with not using the pad for lighter weights then eventually you wont need it. I remember when i could only do 135(1 plate) when i was 14 and i needed the pad, now my max is 350 at 16 and i dont need the pad.

  • great form ma dude

  • Thanks!

  • great squat. put some hardcore music int he video. it just seems blant without it.

  • Yeah, I don't really spend any time fluffing up the videos...I just film it and post it...

  • with out belt? crazy.....

  • Yeah, no belt...that's the best way to really work your core!

  • That is a really pumped butt!!!!!!

  • Umm...thanks?

  • I notice most people at the gym do these kinds of squats... me personally I like to go lower and do those deep squats.

P.S. This guy is an animal!

  • This video is a little old - I've since dropped some weight and startedc going below parallel for my squats - so I agree!

  • beast

  • Beyond dizzy! I was seeing God at the end LOL

  • Gotta get everything I can out of the set!

  • ive been having problems doing squats, its not that my form is off, its when i get the bar up onto my shoulders/traps that i lose some feeling in my arms. any advice? if i can only get past this i can go back to enjoying squats.

  • Your bar placement is off...trying squeezing your shoulder blades together as much as you can and lowering the bar to sit right on top of the "shelf" that the pinched shoulder blades create.

  • Dang dude, sweet squats,

  • Wow...these look like half squats compared to your squats now. In the famous words of Joe Dirt, "She'll freak out when she sees my wheels."

  • Haha - yeah my form is much deeper now!

  • Damn, I hate doing more than 10 reps on heavy squats! I feel like I am about to die after 10 reps. That's some impressive squatting there bro.

  • Thank you!

  • you are very strong sir... :)

  • Thanks!

  • Sick lift man. How's your training going now? Need to see some new videos!

  • Training is going well...I just need to remember to bring the camera to the gym!

  • Very impressive. I thought you were shooting for 5-6 reps or something, but when you went further than 10 I was like wow. Good job. :)

  • Thanks! After that set I was sweating so much, I felt like I just broke a fever!

  • No doubt, 425 pounds is a looot of weight! Especially for a natural.

  • natural?

  • yes he is.

  • Yep!

  • NICE...

  • You wish :)

  • haha yeah those are just plastic plates that you threw on the bar *rolls eyes* dude what is wrong with people lol. How's the training and physique progression coming along Tommy?

  • You get all kinds on here LOL...

Training is going well! I'm the leanest I've ever been at this weight and feeling strong! How about you?

  • That's good to hear brother. Same here, I weighed in 3 weeks ago @ 227. Leaner, stronger, and still setting new PR's. Any new videos on the way?

  • First off, very inspiring vids. They get me pumped!

    Secondly, how big are you?

  • Thanks!

What do you mean by big? Like weight?

  • Are you related to hola bola (bskola)?

  • Nope - no relation

  • That was awesome, strong as well and al 1full and true reps....impressive!!! Thats a lot of weight to be doing for 1-2 good reps.

  • Thanks! I was completely out of breath after that set!

  • good strong set. ive been following your power/hypertrophy workouts for a while now n have to say i think there awesome, im getting stronger all the time cause im not maxin out every workout like before. definetly the best way to train for natural bodybuilders.

  • Thanks man, I agree...it's hard to get away from that particular setup because it works so well!

  • not bad man not deep enough tho borther i do only half this weight but i go deep as you can go ass touching floor.since i have been doing squats ass touching floor my strength has gone threw the roof

  • I agree - this is an older video, and I now go ass to ankles with this weight :)

  • @Sporto4323 lol people are ridiculous this is below parallel, id like to see people post their vids,

  • dude is this oxygen??

  • What do you mean?

  • obviously referring to the TV channel...

    wait wut?

  • Nice glutes... yeah I said it.

  • That's some heavy weight for some good reps - since your aiming for size I think the depth was just fine - I use the about the same. And if people doubt that you can go lower they can just check your other squatvids - some great squatting there as well. Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks - I appreciate that!

  • Making it look easy.

  • Wow, thats some serious weight. Textbook form too. Do you ever incorporate belts or wraps when lifting heavy?

  • yeah he does check some of his other vids :)

  • As bigtim said, I do use wrist straps on my SLDL/RDLs...beyond that, I don't use any other gear (no belt or knee wraps)

  • that back layne was talking about seems no longer its definatly developing the density it needed

keep going tommy were all rooting for you on your next stage apperance

  • Thanks for that! Bringing up my back has been my focus all off season. I'm hoping to see a nice improvement at my next show!

  • Squatting with high reps is just about the most painful thing you can do in the gym, good on you!

  • Yes it is! After this set, it looked like I broke a fever!

  • Thanks! I realize it's not all the way to parallel and not 'powerlifting' depth, but my goals are different and the depth suits me for what I'm trying to accomplish with this exercise. I appreciate the comment!

  • Finally someone who is not afraid to admit it. Too many times guys discredit other lifters for not going to parallel or below. I go as deep as I feel is comfortable and safe. I usually go down to where my legs are parallel with my knees. If I'm going heavy it's usually slightly above parallel.

Impressive lifts! Great video as always!

  • hey tommy ! i like ur squat videos. with that much weight ur going down to a decent depth. most ppl doing heavy just go like 1 cm and up.

    keep it up
