Absolutely nothing is better than being an alto and singing the part perfectly and correctly and NOT being lazy and singing the soprano part instead. Our part is a welcome challenge to all educated vocalists! I recently attended the reunion of our A Capella choir (class of '81 and the voice is better and stronger now than ever) in singing Hallelujah Chorus and was surprised that I was one of very few who had studied it and sung it correctly. Looking forward to next time!
