I thought the whole show was quality through and through, from titles, music, graphics, presentation, subject matter, and ultimately, a fine congenial unpatronising host - Mr Bob Holness. He will be missed.
What a tune! The show was so boring but Bob was brilliant! It was an odd mix though, such a cool modern tune mixed with the type of host you'd associate with classical music. Still it worked... for 10 years!
One of the stated aims of the game was to test the adage that "two heads are better than one". Given that the single contestants won quite often, it seemed to be evidence that one head is quite sufficient (fortunate really, as I only have one head myself).
during breaks between shooting, bob would often take the young female interns under his wing. there were many stories of them getting the full force of one of bobs 'gold runs' in his camper.
fuck you ian upton i bet bob was just a profesional and u were all up in his face like ooh bob holness oohh you look like the skellington off of superted lol and bob was like "Excuse me son, I have a job to do" and you never let go of that fuck you ian upton FUCK YOU

This guy's like a god... Okay, so he's the host of "Blockbusters." What religion are you-Blockbuster Episcopal? Blockbuster Witness? I know- BLOCKBUSLAM!!
WHO IS BOB HOLNESS!!? And what country is this from???
Oh, I get it...you must be talking about the American Blockbusters...most of us on here are talking about the UK gameshow of the same name, with the same concept.
And btw, I was just being sarcastic about the "God" thing. Looks like you've seen that and raised it a little too far there...lol...
As for Bob Holness, he was the UK Blockbusters host for the era that this was taken from. If you want to find out more about him, I'm sure you can Google it or use Wikipedia or something...
Since you're in the UK, you should have had the art of reading English mastered. Obviously, you don't.
Let's go to class...
The user "snakecharmerofborg" ran his trap about mouthing off. But he got the straightening put on himself about that already. Read the comments again, and pay attention to who says what before you go running YOUR mouth.

Blockbusters........good god the memories! I think I remember watching some of these but god knows. I guess the obvious question is if anybody could put the theme or something on would be beyond great! But so mamy memories....................
What a great upload of the Blockbusters intro. I think Blockbusters should return to our screens as it has been over 14 years since the last ITV version was aired!
Again, another good version of this excellent theme tune. This version featuring new opening sequence graphics came from the 90s and was excellent to note the producers kept the exact same opening theme tune as many shows taken into another decade have the themes revamped...usually for the worst.
The theme for blockbusters was composed by Ed Welch. Central TV and Ed Welch released the full 3 minute version back in 1988 on 7" single. A friend of mine still has it!
Hey,herbert 57, thanks LOADS for sharing that with us ! What a great clip, think I can just remember that sequence, but it wasn't long before they changed it to the later one, in the Holness era - when the set had the blue background.

I always thought this game was unfair, as there were 2 people on one team & 1 person on the other.

@martybhoy72 On episodes I've seen, the single person was a person also at college/sixth form . . .
No contestant was from university.

1. If BILL CULLEN or BILL RAFFERTY ain't the host of Blockbusters, then it ain't the REAL Blockbusters.
2. If Bob Cobert didn't write the theme song, then it ain't the ORIGINAL Blockbusters, hosted by BILL CULLEN.
3. If Mark Goodson/Bill Todman Productions or Mark Goodson Television Productions didn't make it, then it ain't the REAL Blockbusters.

This was the Original Titles form 1983 - 1989?
also the theme is 3 sec's slower.

Actually it was 1987 that they changed the opening titles as a special series called Champion Blockbusters first used the later title sequence.
