@jimenezbeast2 talking about mortal kombat. Just before brandon lee died he signed the role for johnny cage on the first mk movie. Would of been epic
man bruce didn't simply beat this dude, he DESTROYED him and not only destroyed him, but put him into the depths of hell to NEVER return again!!! dang!!! crazy fight scene!!!
no human can be in this great of a shape with this much pressure on him!! only bruce lee. no actor, no fighter working on set of a movie can match bruce's shape and speed and talent. that's impossible and VERY admiration for bruce's dedication and the ability to get things done in the utmost!!! simply amazing!
this dude war some tough times in his life, like leaving his country, battling white people during the 60 and 70s, going with a white girl, teaching non chinese, training that goes against tradition, wanting the impossible of making a movie in america when you are not white. dang. that's non human goals and battles. bruce lee the greatest. to go against the odds so huge and to be able to concentrate and train, even on long hrs on the set of movies is mind blowing and has NEVER been done bf!
I wish he was still alive when the mortal kombat movie was made! He would have been a perfect Liu kang!!!!! And it would have been better.. Thumbs up if you agree..
@jimenezbeast2 You're probably 15 but you should realize that things like Mortal combat were actually inspired by Bruce Lee. He's who made Karate popular in the US. Why would he ever play a characture of himself?
To hit that fast it has to be a Coiled and Un-coil nerves on an instinctive level reaction and the mind needs to be on a Time-free state of consciousness. You need to surprise Even Yourself.
A few years ago I met Bob Wall (Han) at a East meets West kickboxing event he said that kick felt like he got hit by a truck, even with the padding on
@68bobba1 People die of drug use all the time, its extremely common. Bruce Lee was prone to mood swings worse than any woman. For a superhuman, he sure burned out quickly. I like Enter The Dragon too, but its just pretend fighting, not real.
@TheDN3A416 from what I,ve read he started taking hash not long before he died to help him unwind....I,d hardly call him a habitual drug user...and I wouldn,t call cerebral odema a drug overdose either...you,ve been reading too many gossip articles about him mate...to what he did in the world of Martial arts is no ordinary feat...sure he died before his time...lastly..,of course the fighting isn,t real in movies...how dumb are you?
@68bobba1 The official word on Bruce Lee's death was "death by misadventure" smoking hash to relax or unwind is what any addict will say. The point being he needed the drugs which doesnt sound superhuman to me. If he wasnt a famous actor, he would have been labelled as just another junkie. This video is labelled "Baddest Fight Scenes EVER!" when its just acting. Anyone can pretend to be a bad ass when there is no chance of them being hurt.
@TheDN3A416 the cause of death was cerebral odema bought on by an alergic reaction to a prescription drug(Equagesic) that he took...a lot of people use hash or dope to unwind...that doesn,t make them addicts or junkies...I think the main word of the title is "fight SCENES"...to most people it looks very real....Do you think you could do what Bruce Lee did on film?....didn,t think so
@68bobba1 There are a lot of people who dont need drugs to unwind too, therefore Bruce Lee had a need that a lot of others dont, which shows he is hardly superhuman. The drugs contributed to this death, therefore if he didnt take the drugs he would have lived. I never said I could do what he did on film, I dont know where you got that from. My point is he is far from the superhuman people like to believe and because he is famous people want to ignore the drug use and adultery he was involved in.
@TheDN3A416 At the end of your last comment you said"anyone can pretend to be a badass when there is no chance of being hurt".that implies anybody could....now your saying you couldn,t do it?...make up your mind mate...the hash didn,t cause his death either...get your facts straight....name another person who could do what he did,and achieved what he did in such a short period of time...he was no ordinary human being...
@68bobba1 An ordinary human being lives longer than 32 years. The drugs contributed to his death, the fact remains that if he didnt take any drugs (hash or painkillers) he wouldnt have died. Anyone can act like a badass on camera, maybe not all could do a backflip as seen in this video though or kick as fast. I personally would prefer to live until Im 100 than burn out, OD and die at 32 years old. The one opponent Bruce Lee couldnt defeat was his own ego, and it ended up killing him.
@TheDN3A416 You really have no idea mate...like I said,he was no ordinary human being...I,ve been watching martial arts movies for about 30 years now and have not seen anyone who,ve come close to matching his ability on screen....so that kinda fucks your theory up(btw,he didn,t do the acrobatics in Enter the Dragon)....I would have liked to see him live longer too...but it wasn,t to be...your right about the painkillers....but he didn,t OD
@68bobba1 So you are saying that if he had never taken any drugs at all, he would still have died at 32 years old? A superhuman wouldnt require the need for drugs at all. Even if his death wasnt drug related, a superhuman wouldnt die at 32 of anything. He was a great martial artist when he was alive which is how the media want us to remember him, but in reality he was also an ego maniac who wanted the spotlight and was jealous of Steve McQueen for getting as many leading movie roles.
@TheDN3A416 In 1969, Bruce sustained a permanent back injury and was warned by doctors that he might never walk again. After that, until his death, Bruce endured constant back pain. He refused to believe the doctors and recovered enough to eventually blow our minds in _Enter the Dragon_. So, in _Dragon_, we are watching an overworked Bruce Lee doing matchless Kung Fu while in constant pain. Watch "Bruce Lee Documentary Part Three", uploaded by guynamedtroy, watch from 4:04 on.
@SilasMacGregor Coming from American doctors, that doesnt mean a thing. The US healthcare system requires someone to be "sick" in order to make money. Do you think these doctors will tell a film star like Bruce Lee that he doesnt really need their services for that long. Also Bruce Lee was responsible for his back injury, it was his own fault. A superhuman would have the sense to warm up properly before training with heavy weights.
@TheDN3A416 How do you think elite athletes get to be as good as they are?...by pushing their themselves to the limit...thats what happened to Bruce...the fact that he came back from an injury like that to become a better martial artist than he was before just goes to prove what an exceptional athlete he was...sure it was his fault...so what?...nearly 40 years after his death,he,s still the yardstick by which other martial artists are measured...that says it all
@68bobba1 Regardless of how good anybody gets at anything, they are heading for the same fate as the rest of us, getting old then dying. Bruce Lee wasnt even fortunate enough to enjoy the life he did have, otherwise he wouldnt have needed the hash to "unwind" Martial arts are for self defence. It kind of defeats the purpose of training in the art of self defence if it ends up killing you. In that respect Bruce Lee has failed.
@TheDN3A416 how long did it take you to work that out Einstein?...In the short amount of time he was on the planet Bruce became a legend...something most people won,t do in a full lifetime...I think fame, and his back injury were the reason for the hash...Martial Arts are a discipline...not just self defense...you really are ignorant...finally he died doing what he loved...His main goal was to intrduce Martial Arts to the world..in that respect,he succeded
@68bobba1 Martial arts are a dicipline, yet Bruce Lee wasnt willing to follow those diciplines so he made up his own martial art where he made the rules that were suitable to him. Regardless of your God-like view of the man, he was still an adulterer and a drug user. He had only himself to blame for his back injury and the stress of fame caused by his attention seeking personality. He could have competed regularly in tournements but he chose show business instead for the attention.
@TheDN3A416 Bruce could not find what he was looking for within the realm of traditional Martial Arts,so he created his own Art,becaus he found traditional MA too limiting...you are half right...there is evidence of drug use,but only rumour of adultry...he was an exceptionally gifted human being...not a god...he chose not to compete in tournaments because at the time they were non-contact...he called it "dry land swimming"or "organised despair"...you really need to brush up on your facts
@68bobba1 But the fact remains that Bruce died at the age of 32 with a need for drugs and painkillers to sustain himself. Is your idea an exceptional, enjoyable and/or worthwhile life? You are exactly right, Bruce could not find what he was looking for, which means he never happy with what he had done so he had to always push things further and it ended up killing him. Would you encourage a kid of your own to keep pushing their limits and find it worthwhile to for them die by 32 on painkillers?
@ROFLisFUN I enjoy Enter The Dragon too, its my favourite martial arts movie. I just feel sorry for the dude. Im starting to see another irony now. He criticised martial arts tournements at the time for being non contact, calling them "dry land swimming" or "organised despair"...so he gets a job as an actor because that is real. lol
@TheDN3A416 U2 get a room. Like one of you quoted.....Death by misadventure. Whose to say his death wasn't covered up by the story of smoking a joint then taking a pill to stop an headache. For all we know he may have been done over by some chinese Triad's or another gang. Who knows, U2 certainly don't and stop going by everything you read from Tom Dick n Harry. The guys dead and he was and still is a legend, never heard the chinese whisper he was jealous of steve Mcqueen pfffffft.
I heard that, during rehearsals for this scene, the O'Hara character was inattentive and, as a result, accidentally cut Bruce's hand. Bruce was so pissed off he sent O'Hara flying into the chairs. The director kept the footage! Best fight scene ever in a live action film.
his hand speed is like a fucking blur. after doing quite a bit of research, i found out that on one of his movies, the film actually had to be played in slow motion because his hand or leg speed was just too fast for the camera to recored at normal pace. now thats what i call rapid !
