@vapourmile There are many hobbyists who are happy with AOS4.1 and put their computer to good use. Every single user uses his/her computer for different things;)
That is such a weird question. I can use amigaos for most things that I use my windows, linux or mac machines for. The difference are in the experience, which computer/OS do I prefer to use and amigaos is my number one choice most of the times because it simply feels better and makes me happy. What makes you more happy, driving around in a good reliable and comfortable car like a Volvo or BMW perhaps, or driving around in a chevrolet from 1975 which needs to be fixed all the time?
It's pretty goddamned exclusive hardware. Just because it doesn't have C= logo or the AGA chipset doesn't mean it's not exclusive. Stop being an elitist.
Not the same as someone running Amiga Forever on a PC at all. Amiga Forever is emulated AmigaOS, running under Windows. The systems shown here are not emulated - they stand on their own two feet and run on their own hardware.
re: chinchilla2302 > yeah whether it's for work or play it's nice to listen to and at times relaxing as well. i know a few artists but i don't know who was playing in the video.
Wow, MorphOS loaded very quickly, it was ready in seconds, that thing at the bottom of the MorphOS desktop reminds me of the Mac OS dock. I've never heard of the Pegesos 2 platform, who was it developed by. Who develps hardware to run MorphOS and Amega OS now that Pegesos 2 is no longer available if you want a new hardware platform? Can you run Windows XP or Windows Vista on Pegesos 2? I know nothing about this platform.
Yeah, MorphOS is VERY fast. I wish, I could run it. That thing on the bottom is indeed something like a dock... I'm writing a clone of the AmigaOS 4.1 dock for Windows. It has also the ability to change the look to a MorphOS like look. But it isn't finished yet. The Pegasos hardware was developed by Genesi. But it died. You cannot run Windows on a Pegasos, but you can emulate it! But since this hardware is PowerPC based, the emulation will probably very slow. :-/
Seriously, though; will there be a demo version? They can't possibly think anyone in their right mind will buy it for their Peg withouth even trying it.
Uh, forget that about "in their right mind". After all, we're talking about Amigans.
Where do you download the OS?

His conslusion is "I think you'd be happy with Amiga OS4.1". Why? What possible use are you going to find for it?

You think this over here is an Amiga? naahhh....in that case I could call my fuckin` windumb PC an Amiga, `cause he`s running Amiga Forever.
I hope there will be a Time where Amiga got his/her rebirth. There`s no point in developing a new OS after another with no exclusive Hardware.

Yep, and I estimate the chances the Amiga platform will ever draw hardware manufacturs away from the PC to be nil.

Why would anyone want to run AOS4.1 if they already have MorphOS installed? MorphOS kick AOS's ass.

About the dock: They're 2 kinds of docks, Amiga and Mac style.
Amiga (classic): Square holds "dockapps" not necessarily a launcher. Dock-apps are like applets.
Mac (modern): Mainly for launching applications. Has cool effects and usually has rounded corners.

PS: I use Linux and like the Amiga type dock.
