    The ZR1 is 25% more expensive then a GTR, with an even bigger difference outside the US and the ACR is twice the price, they would want to be faster.

  • @chrisdef15 Because speed is not measured incrementally on the same scale as price. For instance, you might pay 35 % more for a Cobalt SS Turbo than the standard LS and gain only 10% on the track. Yet that 10% makes it a significantly more desireable car. As performance rises, as with the GTR and ZR-1, the gap between cost and performance gain widens exponentially.

    You also have to consider that the ZR-1 handles better and has heads up display, nicer interior, etc. And it is made in the USA.

    And the Zr1 handles mildy better, as i said its only about 2% quicker despite having alot more hp, it could be argued it doesnt even handle better and its the extra hp giving it the netter times.

    The GTR interior is much nicer, especially in 2-3 years hwn the vette interior falls apart as they do.

    And being made in the US is a bad thing not a good thing,

  • @chrisdef15 chris it's pretty obvious that there are many comparisions that can be made between these cars that are subjective. I would point out to you that the Corvette's excellent interior is ergononic and more comfortable than the Nissan's but that is MY opinion. Vettes have an extremely high resale value, better than most imports. The GTR is so new it has no such track record. And being made in the country that 1st harnessed the power of the atom and sent men to the moon is a good thing.

Yeah thats very comparible, ain't it ?..... Saying the ZR1 is better is self opinionated, but when it comes to track racing and drag racing it takes pro drivers and experianced drivers to get decent times... Except that the new 2011 Nissan GTR destorys the ZR1 and 2011 ZR1 especially at Nurburgring even on wet conditions.. Haha Fail...

  • @ciaomiciabella for the most part you have to drive in straight lines to get where you need to go. Plus you can't find out what a vehicles top speed is if you do nothing but take corners. The only difference between NASCAR and regular circuits is the amount of turns. in the end circuit racing is basically going in a circle for several laps.

  • its called launch control, a feature on the new car that optimizes your launch.

  • he had launch control turned off. 11.8 is as good as it gets with it turned off. with it on the car can go 11.2 but NISSAN says hard launchs with launch control on may cause severe damage and will void any warranty. a lot of people have already found out the hard way and destroyed transmissions in the new GTR.

  • Look at the trap speed: 118. That's piss-poor driving for that kind of power.

    A car like the GTR, like the Porsche it was designed to compete against, has a high top speed and tall gearing.  Such cars are better suited on the highway and fast tracks (like the Nurburgring) and won't do so as well in short-distance acceleration contests like the 1/4-mile.

    Trap speed is a better indicator of power than ET, but 118 mph is too low for 500 hp. Bad driving.

  • i think that gtr still got the speed limiter activated. it stops the car at 118 mph. the good part is that u can crack it, but u will lose your warranty

  • US cars don't come with a speed limiter. Japan limits their cars to 180 kph, which is about 112 mph.

    A friend of mine had an R33 Skyline with a 180-kph speedo, and had it up to about 180 mph, where the speedo had wrapped all the way around and back up to about 80 kph. It was running of an Apexi PowerFC, so it had no limiter.

  • 118 is a reasonable trap speed for a 500 hp car. This thing weighs 3800 lbs. It is not a light car. I do agree that its more of a high speed car though. And stock speedos in older Skylines suck. 180km/h comes way too quickly.

  • Corvettes suck. Interior fit and finish are garbage, exterior fit and finish are garbage, ride is garbage, and they need 7.0L to get 500 (excuse me, 505) naturally aspirated horsepower. The Nissan GT-R handles better than the ZO6, rides better than the ZR1, looks better and is built better both inside and out than either of them. Also, did I mention you could use the GT-R as a daily driver? Try doing grocery runs in a Corvette.  Or driving the kids to hockey.

  • first off, the gtr has been tested faster then 12.0. secondly, the gtr duznt need 7 liters of engine. thirdly, does ur z06 have a trunk? have 4 seats? have a interior that fits its price? nope. gtr is a daily driver that will kick ass on a track. it wasnt designed for the drag strip either. and in order for u to run 11.3, ud have to nail the launch perfectly and every shift perfectly so i doubt u urself have gotten it that low.

I mean it has 600+ hp and a much racier suspension and body than the Z06. The only advantage the GTR would have is the 4wd and the sequential transmission.   • alright dumbass, rumor is that the R35 wore Dunlop SP Sport 600's and not bridgestones, one of nissans reps even said they had cut slicks on one of the tested cars...wow slicks to run 7:38...the other rumors of the r35 is that the interior was partially gutted, suspension was further dialed in from the factory settings and the test car was further tuned from the factory settings. also, the r35 had a rolling start compared to the z06's standing start...2 seconds? woop-de-doo dipshit.

THEY AREN'T in the same class and the fact that the ZR1 actually won by a coat of paint makes me laugh. ZR1-magnesium,carbon fiber and 650hp superchargedand it won by the thinkness of the paint.
