i have read salmarillion children of hurin hobbit and lotr trilogy, can you suggest another or 2 tolkien books for me that are great storys like ring trilogy and not poetry encyclopedia or companion books but are not nightmare to read struggle through not tiny poems or short stories but another actual novel or story like hobbit and lotr trilogy? the only ones i find locally are ones i read already or crazy companions encylclopedias or poetry or short stories can you help me tell me?

#2- so can you help me and name all the actual good reading storys similar to styles of hobbit and rings trilogy vrs encyclopedia or poems? and if you could after you name them for me can you tell me bout the war of ring, war of jewels, treason of isengard and morgoths ring and sauron defeated etc etc are any or all of those titles what im looking for or are theyt companions encyclopedias or poems etc the stuff i DONT WANT? are any them styled written like rings trilogy or hobbit?

is the silmarillion based on middle earth ?

The Silmarillion is about the Creation and the first age of Middle-earth. Many references are made to stories from it in the Lord of the Rings.

@jawatrader123 Every book that j.r.r. Tolkien made was about middle earth.He created an entire world all the way through and was even in the process of expanding the world when he unfortunately died. :(

The book I like best...but is heavy going. You need to read it a couple of times to understand and remember everything. Beren and Luthien from the book would make a fabulous movie.

Can you tell me some more about the moral values in The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion and Tolkien's ideas about heaven, hell, afterlife etc. that he put into these stories.

@larbo1616 there are some things that he said about afterlife.. Men,after they died,they leave the world and all its sorrows,while elves when they die,go to the halls of Mandos where they wait to live again or wait for the end of the world... the closest to hell i think was the Void,were Morgoth was cast in.. and Heaven should be the Halls of Eru Iluvatar himself..
