  • Just saw one of these fly over my house earlier today! >:D

  • USAF 1 FREEFALL FROM FSOC CV

  • The V-22 is the Osprey airframe. The variation "CV-22" belongs to the Air Force and the "MV-22" belongs to the Marines. SOF operators fly the CV-22 within the Air Force Special Operations Command. Thanks for the questions.

  • Shouldn't it be an "MV-22" (I know, that one currently belongs to the Marines)?

From what I understand, the "M" designator is used for the special ops aircraft.

  • @MaidenUtah1 The Marines would have designated their version the "CV" to best represent its role in that branch (ie. CH-46) however it chose to use the "MV" designation for their variant because they didn't want to have any confusion with its parent's (the Navy) designation for its aircraft carriers which is CV. The Marines doing that kind of forced the Air Force not to follow its usual designation rules of "M" for special missions and "V" for vertical/rotorcraft airframe. Hope that helps.

  • Does anybody knows the title of this video's song?

  • I wouldn't even get on that plane!Nor do you,

    ever see the earth move!

  • at 0:24 it looks like they are jumping from a V22 Ofsprey

  • No, this was the CV-22 Osprey - the special operations version of the V-22. They look almost identical from the outside, so it is hard to tell.

  • oh kk

  • MV-22's are for Marines then?

  • yup

  • @AirCommandos wat is the difference between the V22 and CV22?

  • it took me about 2years to learn how to freefall but still working on it after landing in the trees and i was to land on grass with my back first but ended up in a tree, that always happends lolz

  • That doesn't remind me of AFF training! The only way to learn is from certified instructors=FAA aproved.

  • I realy would like to become part of combat control, can anyone tell me how to go about it after enlistment?

  • during basic training they should offer a chance to try to pass a seperate PT test or something similar for either TACP or Combat Control. Just ask about it during basic training. As long as you're in half way decent shape when you're in basic then you should be able to get on CC pretty easy. They always need people. Good luck!

  • Thanks

  • Jumping out of tailgate aircraft is fun.

  • who was jumping

  • lol...my house is right to the left of the runway that you see when they jump. pretty cool video...and very cool aircraft!

  • do you experience any vertigo in your stomach on the way down?

  • i havent jumped from a plane but from a ride ive down that is supposed to simulate free falling u dont get vertigo like on a roller coaster

  • Rides will kill you. In skydiving, only your pilot, your rigger and you can do that.

  • No ... when you jump out of a plane you do not fall directly down. The plane is moving forward so when you leave the plane you follow it's path while beginning to decend torwards earth. This sort of cancels out the "vertigo" effect you are talking about when compared to a roller coaster that drops you directly downwards.

  • also since you're jumping from so high up the ground doesn't appear to be moving at all until you're in your shoot.
