  • Nice, thanks for the explanation

  • Yea Alien Bees..

  • How much this thing can cost? :)

and its called mono light? it dosent have a name or model or something alse ?

  • @DSPoductions It' called Monolight because of it's configuration. One flash output inside one unit with all the electronics. other configuration would be powerpacks where the power unit and the flash bulb is a separate unit. Check out Leading studio flash website will give you a better idea. (Profoto, Broncolor, Elinchrom )

Like in cars you would have different configuration like "Front engine rear wheel drive" "4WD" "Front wheel drive" "Mid engine rear wheel drive"

  • very clear explaination tvm very helpfull

  • Can u use strobe lights/mono lights for video lighting?

  • whats wrong with my monolight? it always fires faster than my shutter even with a fast shutter its still the same, thats why the light from it doesnt show on my photos.

  • @goonrush how do you trigger your monolight?

  • @TheLaksdj i dont trigger it with anything just the canon build in trigger and that was the problem i bought the yong nuo rf 602 and it works well now. thanks

  • Excelent

  • ok im new at the whole photography scene and im looking at monolight kits to buy..now the question is, if i buy the kits, is that all i have to do..like do they plug in to my carmera for the flash, please help..

  • Did you ever find the answer to your question? If not, email me and I'll try to help you out.

  • I also want to find out the answer for this. can you please help me? Send me a message here in youtube, so that I would know what to do? Thanks!

  • Monolights are self powered units, you just plug them in. But you must set the amount of power they put out so your exposures are correct, and the lights are triggered usually by a sync cord attached to your camera.

  • The best way to get the correct exposure or the look that you want is to use a light meter. From there you set your camera meter and shutter based on what you have your strobe unit(s) set at. Average shutter speed for strobes are 60 to 125.

  • Kind of vague question. Yes, if you own a dlsr camera or a camera with a pc synch, you can plug the cord from camera to strobe or you can how up radio units to go wireless which is better because it frees you from cord and giving you better range to shoot.
